Disney wants me to celebrate, who am I to argue? A June 09 PTR. Big Update 05/18

We really had some fun characters interactions on this trip particularly at Character Dining but I will get to that in a minute. Here are more character photos:

Colby and Genie had a staring contest.

As I said above we really enjoyed the character meals. We had wonderful meals on this trip thanks to free dining. Here are some photos:

Chef Mickey's - I swear this is the hardest meal to get...haven't been able to since this trip.

Crystal Palace is another favorite of ours. On this trip we had lunch there. We also had lunch at 50's Prime Time. We had a wonderful Aunt who made me eat my green beans, Colby loved that!!

Ohana's for breakfast was a blast. This is where we really fell in love with Stitch! He is such a trouble maker and so much fun!

Poor Pluto has to work so hard just to sign his name. Apparently DH likes the name tag.

Garden Grill was my favorite meal of the Sept trip based on Character interaction alone! We had one of the last seatings of the night and there were very few people in the place. The characters visited our table so many times that I lost count and I will tell you that all of them must really enjoy being there and they really showed it!

We were visited by Chip, Dale, Pluto & Mickey. At one point I was alone at the table and Dale came bounding by...he waved at me and once he realized I was alone, came back and kissed me on the top of the head.

Pluto was so sweet and James got him to lick me, it wasn't a flattering picture of me but I do have this one to share.

Chip was the absolute best and he loved Colby. He just kept coming back to visit and "talk" to Colby. They looked at the animals in the land and played, had a wonderful time. I took this series of pictures.

We also had a wonderful interaction with Mickey. He signed a lot of things to Colby and they talked for a very long time.

I'll admit that the food here is not the absolute best but the character interaction was top notch!!

I swear this is turning into a mini-trip report...but I never did an official report on this trip. The end of the Sept trip pics tomorrow or Thursday.

Your PTR caught my eye because we are going in June too, but not until the end.... Hope you have a fun trip and although I'll be jealous when you actually go , I will be hanging around to hear all of your planning!

I love the old pics of Colby, he's such a cutie. Love the latest update too...I feel like I'm looking at a trip report and you know how I like pictures! I agree....Garden Grill has the best characters out of any meal! (The food isn't too shabby either) I was sad when they announced no more lunch. We always had lunch there. I prefer dinner in World Showcase. Can't skip the GG though.

Hi Tammy! I am glad you are enjoying the report. That picture with Stitch was so much fun and it was his (Stitch's) idea. It took Colby a minute to figure out what in the world was going on but it turned out so cute!

The rest of September: I wanted to finish up with a few more pics from our September trip. I love all the Disney touches...

We saw Push...

and located his handler.

We tried out more silly hats.

We saw different shows:

We just had fun!

As you can see it really was a lot of fun for all of us. Next trip June 2008 (which I'll only post a couple pics from since I did a report on that one).

On our first trip to stay onsite I started a tradition of having a gift basket there as a surprise for Colby. He really is excited by these and enjoys the toys all trip and long after.

This year I decided to have a second basket created for James and I just received the photo today so I wanted to post a picture.

James will be very surprised and tickled (it is an anniversary present). Colby will also receive some Disney Dollars from us that I got at the Disney store.

We also received Disney mail Friday of last week with all of our travel docs...that makes it official for me, seeing that Disney envelope.

I have used the same person for 3 years now. Her name is Betsy and she runs memoriesbybetsy com. She is not affliated with Disney directly however she does wonderful work & is very reasonably priced. If you go to her website you can see many examples of her work.

I know...we are getting exited too but it is moving into crunch time for me to get everything together. My plan is to pack on Memorial Day so that I can have everything ready for DS and me way before we leave. I've got to finish these old trips out so that I can move on to stuff for the new trip before we go!

Today we are down to 11 days till trip time so I would like to finish my trip down memory lane so we can move on to the 09 ptr.

2008 begin the years of taking Summer trips as not to interfer with Colby's school so we decided to go the first week of June. I tried to get photos that I had never gotten before so I will show you a few of those.

Of course we found some old friends.

Next post a inpromptu trip in November with never before seen photos!

Not long after we got home from our June trip we started talking about possibly taking another trip towards the end of the year to see the Christmas lights. Now my mother had not been to Disney since I was in 3rd grade and we decided to surprise my mom (early Christmas present) with a trip over Thanksgiving.

This ended up being a really short trip with school and work constraints but still lots of fun. We drove down Wednesday night and checked into Pop Century on Thanksgiving. We went to MK on Friday and Epcot on Saturday. It was CROWDED but we still did everything we wanted to do.

Here are some pictures from that trip!

We stayed in the 50's section. It was nice and quiet.

We loved Pop's decorations.

The cold couldn't keep Colby out of the heated pool.

We took our time and took lots of breaks.

I noticed the beautiful scenery in the Magic Kingdom.

Colby officially became a pirate.

He got his first pair of mouse ears.

We saw the beautiful castle all decked out for the holidays!

We met some new characters!

And made one very happy with our shirts!

and enjoyed time with family.

It was a once in a lifetime trip and I am so thankful I got to do that for my Mom!!

This week I am going to get our schedule for the week posted along with some other things. I cannot believe it is almost time for us to go again!!
