Not sure where to post this... anyone have the Disney Visa and do you like it? What don't you like about it? I keep looking at it, but the APR seems ridiculous. Then again if it were that high I would definitely pay it off every month!

Thanks :goodvibes

I have one and I love it! I use it for almost everything just so I can get the Disney reward dollars. The APR isn't great, you're right, but I never keep a balance to it doesn't really matter. You also get a 10% discount at World of Disney in Downtown Disney, so every trip I usually buy all my souvenirs there. You also get a free character Meet and Greet in Epcot and you can get one free picture with the characters each day you're there. The last trip we went 3 times!

And you don't have to pay interest on Disney trips for 6 months. So that's pretty good if you do leave the balance at the end of the month.

Also the online site is really easy to use. I check my account everyday and it is so easy to set up payments. And a few months ago the gas station charged my card twice. I sent Chase a quick message through my online account about it and they deleted the charge within about 2 days. I was very happy with their service.

And I have a card with Mickey on it!

LOVE IT!! Previous poster gave most of the 'finer points' of having the card, but I just want to add one I've noticed. Because it has Mickey on it, and says Disney on it, the card opens discussions all the time. I'm sure the people in line behind me aren't so excited about waiting while the cashier and I chat about Disney, but I thoroughly enjoy it!

I don't have one......I have two!

What I like:
  • No annual fee.
  • I can make payments online.
  • Easy to redeem rewards.
  • 0% APR for 6 months on Disney vacation packages
  • 10% discount at Disney Store and WoD
  • Cool character meet & greet photo in EPCOT

What I don't like:
  • Owned by Chase.
  • Highest APR of all my cards.
  • Only 1% back on purchases.
  • Did I mention that it's owned by Chase? Yeah, I really don't like that.

If you pay it off every month and don't incur any fees, you can make this card work for you. We've had 5X rewards offers for the entire year on one card or the other. That's 181 additional rewards dollars so far this year with 4 more months of statement to come! We've earned over 400 regular rewards dollars on the cards this year. That's a nice bonus for the vacation fund!

Now, if you're the type to pay late or carry a balance this card is not for you. The APR is high even if you have an excellent credit score. In the past, Chase was a little nicer about waiving a late fee if you had a good payment record but not anymore.

I guess that I would have to say it's not a bad card to have if you're a Disney fan. Just be a wise consumer too and keep current on your account!

I don't have much to add, the PP have stated it well.

Bottom line - it's 1% rewards that is my savings plan for our spending money at Disney. However, if you can't pay it off each month in full, the APR doesn't make the 1% in rewards worth it at all.

I also like that you can choose your card design. DH doesn't even care that his card has Tink on it - he's received some interesting comments on it. :lmao:

In addition to the meet & greet and 10% off the PP mentioned, you also get 10% off a $50 purchase anytime at the Disney Store (no coupon needed for that), and they often have other Visa member rewards for different items.

Visa members could book free dining for the fall/winter a few days before it was announced to the general public, they sometimes offer discount tickets to Cirque or Disney Broadway shows, etc.

There are other park perks as well - 20% off tours, 1/2 price stroller at DisneyLAND (not World). They aren't huge savers, but IMO, every little bit of savings helps.

Again, to re-state the most important part: if you can't pay it off each month in full, the APR doesn't make the 1% in rewards worth it at all.

Thanks for all your input - will seriously look more into this card - and will definitely be planning to pay it off in full every month!!! :thumbsup2
