Disney Visa Rewards Question

Sorry if this has been asked before but I'm new to the Disney Visa Reward Program.

I got my card for a WDW trip and when we arrived at Disney I went to Magic Kingdom to get my points. They gave me a card and told me to call a 800 number. O did and it worked great. I used the Disney Card with my Reward Dollars during the trip and it was perfect.

Now we have booked a Disney Cruise - first one! Yeah!!!

Can I use my Disney Reward Dollars on the boat?

How do I redeem the rewards if I'm not going to Magic Kingdom?

Can I call someone and have them apply it to my own board credit?

How far in advance should I redeem my points to make sure I have them in time for the trip?

Have I asked all the right questions?
