Disney Visa Reward - Pay Deposit or Whole Balance to get discount?

I was under the assumption that you just had to pay your deposit with the Disney Reward Visa Card to get the special, which I did on Monday.

I just called to pay the remaining balance today and a CM told me that I had to pay the entire package balance with the Disney Visa, that I could not use another CC in order to "keep" the special. She didn't even try to put in my different CC.

Does anyone know if the CM is right on this or should I call again? I don't have my new Disney Visa card in the mail yet, but have to pay the balance by the 29th as that will be 45 days to check in date. If this is true, I'll try to wait patiently for the new card to come.

I thought you only had to put the deposit on the Disney Visa. I would call back.

We already had a reservation booked, then applied the Visa code. Didn't ask anything about paying off the reservation with the Visa.

But we ended up doing a split stay, keeping the original portion on the last 4 nights. When the CM asked for the deposit on the new ressie, he asked if we were using the Disney Visa or another card. So to me it seemed you didn't need to use your Disney card at all. By the way, how would they know you have one if you don't use it to pay the deposit? :confused3

Some where in these threads someone said all Disney Visas starts with the same series of numbers. I just looked at my e-mail for the Disney visa deal and it just says your deposit must be made with the Disney Visa. Nothing anout the whole payment.

Thanks, that is what I thought. I will give it a day or two and call again.

Maybe all of these code releases have the Disney travel agents under stress or something. :confused3

Perhaps you have to charge the whole package to get the no-interest period that is offered with the Disney Visa??? :wizard:

She did mention that, she said "you have to pay the balance with the Disney Visa to get the special on your package". I said, "Oh, I didn't know that, my card hasn't even come yet". She then said, "Plus you'll get 0% interest for 6 months". I just said I'd call back later. She was sort of "dry" if you know what I mean.

I think she really thought I had to pay the full balance to keep the special code. Either she is misinformed or I am. I'll keep you posted.

That is NOT true. That would require everyone to have a big enough limit and everything. I have gotten Disney Visa discounts before, and I did NOT pay the entire balance with that card, just the deposit. She was misinformed. Call again and say you need to pay your package off! Or try paying online, that is what I do...I paid my September trip off last January and paid it online. Then you don't even have to talk to anyone!

I often know more than the CM I am speaking with. Just yesterday one tried to tell me that tickets on a package expire within 14 days, even if you don't activate them...umm, no they don't. She was trying to convince me I should go with no expiration, otherwise my one day ticket would expire (I have an AP so I won't be using it yet.) I just politely told her I don't think that is the case, and I do not need the no expiration option!

I only paid the deposit with my Visa. Yesterday I received an invoice via email saying that the balance could be paid off by credit card or by check.

I agree with the other posters, call again each CM has a little different information.

Have a great day

Success - I called this morning, paid the balance with my Discover. The CM never even mentioned VISA period.

Thanks for your thoughts! The moral support made me determined to argue if I had to.
