Question about transferring reward points from a Disney VISA.....Our cycle date is the 24th and we are leaving on the 25th. Typically the points show up on our account on the 26th. I am thinking about calling the 800# to transfer the points while we are down there so we can use every last one.
Has anyone done this? Did it work out?

Last fall, we were in the world from Sept. 30- Oct 7. Our billing cycle ends the last day of the month. We called on the 2nd and they transfered that month's reward points to our card. Quick & easy.

Don't mean to jump on your message thread, but is it easy to use the reward card? Is it accepted at the Restaurants in WDW? We have some points and were thinking of using them for meals for our upcoming trip in December. Have you had any experience with this? Thanks.

It's SO EASY to use the rewards card. It basically works like a debit card. It is accepted everywhere at WDW. When you make a purchase, you present the card. They swipe it and tell you the amount left on the card. We used ours on our last trip from places like the food court, to nice restaurants, to souvenir shops. I love it! It's such an easy way to save for vacation! :goodvibes Kathy

I have the disney visa myself but havent taken use of it yet..the reward thingie anyway. So what do I do? Call them and tell them I want to cash them in or whatever? Do they send a reward card? and how long does it take?

You can go right to their website and requests one. I think they say to allow 4-6 weeks but ours showed up in less than 2 weeks. What we did was transfer the bulk of our points about 3 months before leaving and then transferred the balance after receving our bill the month we were leaving. Since we did not have a package when we went we just used the points on the card to pay part of the room and then did not have to worry about using it the rest of the trip.

I just requested our rewards card on Tuesday for our Nov cruise. Here's what they told me. If you are requesting a rewards card for the 1st time you have to transfer a minimum of 20 reward dollars in your account. You do not have to request them in multiples of 10 or 20-say you have 58 dollars, you can request all 58. After you get your rewards card for the 1st time and use it, don't throw it away. You can call back at any time and ask them to load more reward dollars to your account and they do it automatically, but you have to transfer a minimim of 10 in order to load more. You do not have to completely deplete your card before requesting more dollars. I'm in the same situation as Kathyloves Pooh-we're flying to WDW Nov 2nd for 3 nights at POFQ then off on DCL Nov 5th. My statement will cycle Nov 3rd and the points will show up on my account Nov 4th. The rep told me to leave 10 dollars in my account to cover the minimum and then call back either Nov 4th or 5th and have them transfer the new dollars to my card. I hope I've answered your question. DH accuses me of being long winded, but I just consider myself thorough! :sunny:

If you don't get a rewards card before you go to Disney World, you can go to DTD Guest Services and get one there and call immediately. Takes 5 minutes or less!

Great information....we don't have a package either. Wondering what most people do - use it for meals throughout the park or charge the meals, etc. and then just use it at check-out. Is one easier than the other?

Can you use the rewards card and counter service restaurants and snack carts? Since we have the dining plan, that might be all I'm buying out of pocket!!

That's exactly what I did last October.

Yes, but you must have $20 min each I believe.

Yep, but it moved pretty recently, just FYI. Instead of being in its old building, it is now between Team Mickey and Arribas Bros.

I got a gift card with my Disney Visa when I signed up as part of a promotion and I took it with me to Disney and was going to use it in a shop in AK. The CM couldn't get the card to work and her fellow CM said "oh that's a Disney Store card" this is not a Disney store. So I looked around a minute to make sure I was in Disney and it was a store and said "but this IS Disney and I AM in a store". I guess there is a "Disney Store" that isn't connected with Disney...nice gift card

ok, so i'm new to this. I have the Disney Visa card. I have a few points. You guys say you can use it at the food court, hotel purchase, etc... How do you know how many points something is worth. Also, how do you earn rewards point. Is it like 1 point for every X amount of dollars spent?

When er go to WDW we give a copy of our credit card to the front desk @ the hotel. We use our room key all week to charge things. The night before we leave we go to the front desk and use our disney rewards to pay off the bill. That way we know exactly how much we spent.

We have used ours multiple places in the past (never had a problem), but this year I plan to use most of it for pins, DF and I are novice pin collectors and to me its just free pins I have been racking up all year!
