Disney Visa M&G

Hey Patty ~
There is one in DCA over by Monsters Inc.
DH got an application for one in the mail yesterday offering a $200 Disney GC after your first purchase. Needless to say, we are going to sign up and more than likely cancel the card before the year is up.

Read the fine print because ours was 100 dollar gift card offer but that really is a 100 dollar credit on your card after first use and they take the first annual fee out of that so I only really got 50.00 to spend on what I wanted.

I read it with a fine toothed comb...LOL. The annual fee is waived the first year. Also it specifically states that after your first use of the card, the GC is shipped/received within 6-8 weeks...I don't see anything about it possibly being a credit...that would suck.

Maybe they got some complaints about the deal I got? Sounds like your deal is better than mine regardless.

I usually chuck them in the recycle bin. DH had already ripped it up and had it sitting on the counter. We reviewed the info, and it looked like a pretty good deal. I usually only see a $50 or $100 credit.

Didn't mean to turn this into a Visa offer thread...

Ugh, Jana, I got that same offer in the mail today. $200 GC, not a credit, no annual fee. And here I just signed up for one last month. I already got the $100 GC from that, and it came pretty quickly.

I want to do that M&G. Does anyone know if the voucher they give you for the free 5x7 is only a one-time deal or for every time you go?

Bummer Fran. At least you got a gift card. Did they waive the annual fee too?
I haven't read that there is a limit to the M & G. It just says it's available 30 min after DCA opens for 90 min, and you just show your card to enter. I have heard of people that have gone a few days during their trip.

The M & G is only at CA and is over next to and sort of behind the Monsters Inc. ride, there is none at DL. My understanding is that you can get a photo every day (one per day) that you are there. When we were there we only got it once, but I have seen other posters explain in trip reports how they went multiple days and got shots/free photos each day.

Great! Thanks for the info! It's only for 90 min though? I'll make a note to get over there soon after we show up. I like "free" stuff. :)

We got a card last year (and a $100 GC in the mail!) and I used it for the M&G picture at WDW. It was a nice 5x7 with Mickey, Minnie and Goofy (they change characters so it could be anyone) And yes, my understanding is you can go once a day every day.

As far as the Visa offers- there are 2 cards out there. One with an annual fee (those are the ones getting the $200 GC offer and higher Disney rewards points given) and the other does not have an annual fee (and gets $100 GC or credit- depending on the offer- and lower rewards points given) So you are both probably right! Just depends on your offer.

If I can piggyback on: Do the characters change every day? I love free stuff too, and a free pic to boot. I'd totally do it every day if the characters rotated.

The last couple of years they have had Chip and Dale OR Pluto. If memory serves me well half the time is with one and half with the other. I don't recall the sequence though.

You can go once every day and if your family has more than one Disney Visa you get a free pic for each card. We have two cards in our family and last year we ended up with 40 free pics from our two vists. They allow you to use the voucher for the free pic for any of your photo pass pics, or at least they did last year. I'll know about the policy for this year in 29 days when we leave to spend another 10 days at DLR.

I believe the sequence is 30 minutes pluto, 30 minutes chip and dale and 30 minutes pluto again. They let you use it for any photo with a character (which is good because our last trip they didn't even bother to take the posed photo with Chip and Dale... Goodness). You can go each day of your trip and if you have two people with different account numbers, you can get two vouchers (once they gave DH and I each one, but that is not typical).

I thought I read that this is only open right at park opening.
Is that correct or can you go to the Meet and Greet all day long?
Does anyone know the hours?

It's available 30 min after DCA opens for 90 min...so it is not an all day thing.

Thanks for the clarification!
Are there usually long lines for this meet and greet?
And is it better to go first thing or right before they close?
We were planning on heading over there the first week in November...

The most I've experienced is about 4 groups in front of us. Most of the time it is only one or two.

Compared to the M&G line at Epcot, this line is nothin'!

We've never had to wait more than a minute. When we went to WDW, we thought, Great, we'll go to the Visa M&G picture line - that was a very loooong line! So, we skipped it. We like to try and get to it at DCA, when we remember.
