Disney Visa...is it worth it?

I typically charge/pay off a fair amount each month.

We are doing our first WDW trip end of Feb/beg of Mar 07

Is the Disney Visa truly a good deal?

Our trip is gifted to us by a family member. Our tickets/hotel/dining package is all covered by them.

Would there be any real benefit for us to open a Disney Visa? Do the benefits expire?

TIA,

We pay for a lot of our household stuff (groceries, meals, gas, etc.) using our Disney Visa, and pay it off each month. On Sunday, my DS (3) and I are going on a guys-only trip to WDW. I plan to use our Disney Rewards card to pay for all of our meals and merchandise - and I'm pretty sure it will cover most of our costs.

There's also the Disney Visa character meet and greet at Epcot, although I think that expires fairly soon.

Be careful of how many Disney Rewards credits you move to your card - I put all of our credits on our card, and recognized after the fact that the expiration of those credits was changed to 2007.

I think it's worth it if you can be disciplined about spending and pay off the credit card every month. It's nice to get some money back to spend in the parks, or at the store, but it's not worth it if you're also paying interest on the money you spend using the credit card.

As far as other perks go, at Disneyland (CA), they gave Disney Visa cardholders a free single stroller rental for a while. They also had special character greets with Mickey & Goofy with a free photo. In the past, they used to do free screenings of new movie releases, but they haven't been doing those recently (too bad!). You have to check their website frequently for promotional offers.
