Disney Visa gift card fee?

I just received my $500 gift card from my AKV addon. The small print says that when the card is used up, there is a $10 fee to close the card out. Has anyone been charged this fee?

We just got ours yesterday and I saw this too. I don't know why anyone would ever need to close it with the exception of it getting lost and you wanting them to re-issue one, which I could see them then charging a $10 fee for this. If you use it up then just toss it. Its worthless at that point since its a pre-paid card and isn't tied to any of your personal information.

We had plans to use for meals in WDW next summer. But not if we'll be charged $5 for each transaction

We just used ours this past weekend and had no charges associated with it. I loved when I used it at Target it gave you your remaining balance on your receipt.

Since MS accepts credit cards for dues, does anyone know if MS will accept the $500 Disney Visa Gift Card for payment of dues?

WHy wouldn't they? It's the same as a credit card, so anywhere that accepts a credit card can accept a gift card.

How did you know there was a $5 charge? Did it show up immediately on your receipt or you notice the charge someother way?

My husband once received Visa giftcards from his boss. He did not use them right away and they started losing $10 a month for fees. You might want to check on that also. I hate giftcards.

The card comes attatched to a cardboard mailer. Read the details on the back of the mailer. Actualy I will read it to you all because it is on my desk in front of me. "Schedule of fees and limits": Administrative fee to close card= $10 per card.
