Disney Visa - Discounts on room rates

Just thought I would pass along this little bit of information that I learned today (I hope it hasn't already been discussed on here)...

I called to check for discount rates at the Animal Kingdom lodge for this summer and found out that if you have the Disney Visa you can get standard view rooms for $139 and Savannah view rooms for $215. I think this is the same discounts that they are currently offering from an e-mail I received so it is not really a big deal now, but I will remember to ask for any special discounts for Disney card holders in the future!

I got the $139 rate at the Wilderness Lodge this way. I called with a list of codes from Mousesavers, and the CM who helped me said "I'll need a Disney Visa number to give you the rate for that code..." I don't know what was up with the other codes, but I gave him the first 4 digits of my Visa and got the WL for $139.

We are very excited. We will be staying on points at OKW but will have one glorious night at the WL first. I have never stayed there and can't wait! I asked for a bunk bed room and I know if we get it my kids will be thrilled. I am thinking of doing the "bike and boat" plan for the week and hanging out a lot at the WL marina.

I have the Disney Visa, but the CM told me I had to book a package with tickets to get the discount. I am looking to go in Oct and stay at the AS. Where can I find the discount code and can I use it just for a room? Thanks!

I have the Disney Visa too but haven't had word of any codes. And as AP holders I thought we were out of luck on the 6 month-no interest thing too. Haven't had my first DV bill yet, did info come with that?

I got the codes on Mousesavers.com. You click on "WDW" and there is all sorts of info. If you are making reservations far in advance, I think they advise you to go ahead and make them at the regular rate and then you can call for a "price adjustment" if a code appears. The codes are for times that are coming soon. The codes I recently saw, for example, had to be used by late April for trips through early July.

With your help,I finally figured it out. Had "enrolled" when the card arrived but hadn't noticed where to locate the offers. Can't use either offer available now but at least I know how to access the area. I appreciate the info.

You can get a rate of $139 a night at the AKL (standard) with code AEF for travel from 4/27 through 7/3. For some unknown reason, you cannot book it directly by calling Disney. If you go on www.disneyworld.com and hit "Vacation Savings" in upper left hand corner, you can book a room right through there. Hope this helps!

After you log in, when you get to the screen with your account information, there is a dropdown called "select action". Click on it and pick "view current offers". There are 6 categories, 5 currently have offers. You can see your reward balance under "manage rewards".
