we have a disney visa and I see that we can get a 10% discount off select merchandise purchases over $50 or more (yada yada small print). My question is - if we have the visa linked to our magicbands is the discount automatic? Or do I have to ask for the discount and/or present my Visa card? Thanks!!

Whenever we wanted the discount we had to use the card at the register and not all castmembers know/remember the discount so it is best to mention it to them.

You need to either present the actual Disney Visa card or you can use the Redemption card as well.

You have to show the card and then they just swipe it since you take it out anyways. Pretty annoying and I wish they would just code it someone to show you get a Disney visa discount and/or AP and DVC as well.

If it was coded, then Disney wouldn't bank on people forgetting to ask for the discount. I have done this before and found it not worth going back for the adjustment.

That's true. I don't often forget since we have 2 of the 3.

Is there ever an 'and'? That is, is there any case where disney visa discount would stack with AP discount? Last trip I just used AP discount since it's always better than disney visa. I assume they would or could not be used together, can they?

They don't stack. I was just saying that many of us have AP, Visa, and DVC and something AP may get an more off then just Visa or DVC may get some more so it is always about keeping on top of which discount is currently higher.

I usually tell them I have DVC and the Disney Visa, which one would they like. They have always given me the biggest of the two.

You have to ask. We had a great cashier last year, who reminded me, when I forgot to ask.

We're pretty good about remembering the discount, but we've had CMs who noticed the DVC or AP ring on our MBs and reminded us we qualify. Very nice when they do that. :earsboy:

I ALWAYS forget about this discount and end up charging stuff to my room and thus not getting the discount. I may use a marker to put an asterisk on my wife's forehead as a reminder this trip (she may not agree).
