Just got my Disney Visa statement with an insert that mentions a Character Meet 'N' Greet Event at Epcot with a photo included. Has anyone done this -- can you tell me about it?

In Innoventions East (I think) you can go in and get your picture taken with a couple of characters. They give you a card that will allow you to get a free picture. We did this and had a great time. We saw Mickey and Pluto at first and then Minnie and Goofy came out as we were leaving. It isn't busy and you get plenty of time to spend with the characters.

We did this in January. We went to the designated place (Innoventions East or West...not sure). There were maybe 4 families in front of us, so not a long wait. There is plenty for little ones to do while mom & dad wait in line. My DS7 had a ball playing with some of the stuff right there.

We showed the CM at the entrance our Disney Visa & he gave us a coupon for a free 5X7 PhotoPass picture of our Meet & Greet. Then we were ushered in. We had 2 photos taken with Minnie & Goofy, got the autograph books signed & left.

On our way out of Epcot, we stopped at the photo place & picked up our free 5X7. Someone on this board stated that the person at the photo place let them choose any PhotoPass pic. as their free one. Our CM didn't offer that...I should've asked. This Meet & Greet photo wasn't great...we had better ones on our card. But it's still nice to get a free one.

Our Visa Meet & Greet photo is in my sig.

It was a good experience, though I missed out on the free 5x7. I thought I could order it online. I was wrong. You have to pick it up that day in Epcot.

We walked right up to the Meet & Greet area, and there was no line. Minnie and Goofy danced around with my kids. It was fun!

And you can get "ONE" every day your there. So hope they have different Characters, which they normally do. I have Mickey and Minnie, Goofy and Mickey, Donald and Daisey, Mickey and Pluto.

Oh and you must pick up the picture THAT DAY. And can only be picked up at Epcot. So go early cause that place is a zoo and closing time. Thats how we missed out on are first one. Got the pictured waited till after illuminations to get it and line was HUGE. Thought we could get it the next day and they said sorry no can do.

We did it too! It is fun and FREE! :thumbsup2

You can have it made at Inoventions West between 1:30 and 4:30. Inoventions West is the one on the right side as you enter Epcot, and is closest to The Land Pavilion.

And like GOOFYFREEK said, pick it up ASAP (they will tell you when it will be ready for pick up, or at least they told us), the line is LONG at the end of the day!

Thanks for all the information -- we will do this when we are there this summer!

We did it too back in October. It was so much fun! :thumbsup2 There was no one there when we walked in and no one behind us so we spent quite a bit of time in there. They also took a few photos and put them onto my Photopass so I could pick which one I liked better. We had Mickey, Minnie and Goofy with us in our photo. Definately make sure you check it out! :goodvibes

How cool!!

Did not know about this. We are going end of April and I hope that we can get a cool one with Mickey and Minnie.

Will definatly try to go every day to get different pics. That is a really cool perk for them to give!

:cool1:

Coronado Springs here we come (again!) April 2006

Not just for kids - groups & adults okay too?

Do you pick them up @ the photo store (near the Epcot ball)?

TIA

It was just adults when we went, so no worries there! And as far a groups, I think I read somewhere that it was for any size group of 6 or less, but I could be remembering that wrong....

And yes, you pick them up at the photo shop by Spaceship Earth. :)

Yup not a problem :thumbsup2 There were 4 adults in my group, no children, and we had a blast! :goodvibes

So, is there something you have to do ahead of time, as in before your trip, if not where do you go when you are at Epcot? This is done at Epcot, right? Do you just show up at this location with your Disney Visa? And is is true that you can get a free photo each day? That is really great if it is, I will do that and hope for different characters. :)

You need to print out the invitation and bring your Disney Visa card with you. Oh yeah, be sure and bring your own camera, the photographers gladly take photos with your camera.

The invitation gives directions were to find the characters (EPCOT - West pavillion) it is inside next to the Fire Truck and house display.

We arrived with invitation in hand, camera and family. We entered the room and were able to take our time and as many photos as we wanted. The photographer put the pictures on our Photopass card. After we completed the photographs (we were departing) we went to the camera shop near Spaceship earth, viewed out photos off of the Photopass, choose our photo and they printed it and placed it in a nice folder. Since we had been there 7 days we purchased a CD with all of the photos (85) from the Photopass for $99, according to the CM it was a good value any CD over 35 is the best value.

I believe that it was worth our while, I'm just sorry I forgot about it until our last day.

These were taken with my camera.

We didn't need an invitation when we went last month - just had to show our credit card to them.

We did not have an invitation either...you don't need one...just your Disney Visa card.

When we were there in February, we were walking toward the place where they take the picture and a family starting walking really fast bumped me out of the way, and cut in front of us, they were really abnoxious, oh well I wasa on vacation, we went in behind them, there was just one family in front of them. When they were the next family to get in, the person at the door asked them for their visa card, they did not have one, they were told the could not go in........ Now I was happy, karma does get you back.
I guess they saw a small line and figured that they could just knock me out of the way to get there first, no matter what is was for.
