I have the Disney Visa card and would like to use this at the resorts during our DVC stay to get any discounts possible. I know I’ll get the Disney points, but does anyone know if I get food/dining or merchandise discounts without showing my actual Disney Visa? Will I still get the percent discount if the Disney Visa is connected to my Magic Band?

As you can probably tell, I’ve never done this before, and I don’t know if your actual bill is discounted or if the discount is received later when it hits your credit card. If it’s the former, I’d imagine I need to show I’m using my Disney Visa at the time of purchase. The latter makes me think the system will recognize my transaction, and I’ll get the discount when i use my credit card, regardless of whether it’s the physical card or simply connected to my magic band.

I’d much rather pay using the magic band than credit card, as it’s just easier to not have the credit card on you sometimes. However, I don’t want to miss out on the discounts the credit card may allow. I’m sure some of you have encountered the example I’m discussing. I’d appreciate hearing about your experience.

It's been my experience that you have to actually use the Disney Visa at the point of sale to get any discounts associated with it. Having it linked to your MDE and using your MB is not sufficient.

thank you. That’s what I needed to know.

Yes you have to show your Disney Visa to get the discount. It’s not auto applied like some of the credit card discounts you can choose to add to your card on their website from time to time. The server or cashier will apply it at the time of purchase.

I think it’s this:

Not this:

If you want the Disney Visa discount, I think you have to pay with that credit card. You can’t show it but use a different method of payment.
