Disney Visa $200 Gift Card

Does anyone know if you can qualify for the $200 GC for upgrading from standard to premium?

Can you get $100 for the regular card if you've previously signed up for the premier?

Nope! The offer is only available to new cardholders, not to cardholders changing their card type. I was interested in upgrading mine to get $200 but I wasn't eligible.

i have closed all my Disney Cards so just opened the basic card with the $100 back --i don't want to pay $49. a year for membership!

Have to rack up points for our 2015 disney trip :)

My advice would have been to sign up for the premier card (well, it actually would be not to sign up for the Disney card at all as there are much better cards out there). Yes there is a $49 annual fee, but that is covered by the increased sign up offer. At about 11 months, call and ask to be downgraded to the regular card so that you won't need to pay the annual fee.

Don't upgrade. Just call them and ask for the deal on a new card. After you get the new one, just cancel the old one.

We did that with the SW card. It's basically opening a new account.

Has anyone tried this yet?

I did when I upgraded about 18 months ago. They had no issue with me having 2 accounts. That was why I made the suggestion. There was also a thread not too long ago about people doing a similar thing to get the 50K points on the SW credit card. It worked for everyone that opened the second account. The worst they can do is say no.

I don't know if they allow you to downgrade anymore. At least they didn't let me! I tried a week ago and the CS told me he was unable to downgrade me - later got a letter that said my card was not eligible for a downgrade. So I called to cancel...they offered me a $50 statement credit to keep the card so I did.

I just might have to do this. Thinking about a getting a massage during my April cruise.

So with the Priemer card, you get 2% on certain categories including Disney purchases. Does that apply to booking a trip on the card? I have always used my regular Disney card to get the 6 months no interest. Do you still get that with the Priemer? Is there a MONTHLY limit on how much you can earn with the 2% (like up to $1,500, etc.)?

Yes, the 2% includes Disney trips. You do still get the 6 months no interest (I've never used it on either card so don't know if there are differences). As far as I know there's no limit on 2% purchases. It includes gas and groceries and maybe restaurants? I've never gone over but I'm also not putting tens of thousands on the card!

It includes restaurants too. We have it and are accruing a nice sum for Disney next year. I didn't know we get 2% on booking our trip. That's great!p
