We'll be resort guests at Copper Creek during the first AH party (11/8). Hoping to buy some tickets for our group, but had a couple questions for the experts out there.

1) Is calling MS the best route for buying those tickets when the advance window opens (or is there another phone number we should call for the special event tickets)?
2) There are a total of 8 of us: 5 in my group, 3 in my sister's group. My sister has her own villa booked through her own membership. When I call to purchase my 5 tickets during the advance window, will I be able to buy my sister's 3 tickets as well, or would she need to call for her own? In other words, do they limit me to just buying tickets for those staying on my reservation?

TIA! -Ken

There may be another number used to secure them. You would then be tasked with presenting your DVC membership card at ticket pick up if you are receiving a discounted rate.
Your sister will need to grab her own unless you all are not receiving a DVC discount. I say this because only people who live with you in your home are eligible for the discount under your membership number and the same for her group ( all (adults)must be using same addresses on ID cars) YMMV though!

I would not hesitate to purchase for my sister, especially if she were a member as well. Two years ago, I did -in fact- buy tickets for MVMCP for my (adult) sister (who is not a DVC member) to go with me. I also took my adult daughter another year (also not a member). Each time I asked beforehand & was told it was completely fine. I was required to show my blue ID at the entrance & that was it! We were both in, both times, no issue. Just ask MS if you have any lingering concern 😉

According to the WDW site:

Price for Disney Vacation Club Members
Item(s) are priced for Disney Vacation Club Members only. For these items, you must show a valid Disney Vacation Club Membership ID at the park entrance to pick up your tickets or passes.
