Hi

I really don't know much about DVC so can you please explain it to me?

How much would a trip from Dec. 14-27 2008 at a standard Two-Bedroom Vacation Home at the Boardwalk with dining plan and 10 basic MYW theme park tickets for only this year cost?

(2 adults and 5 kids)

How about the same for Coronado?

Do you know the prices from the TimeShare Store?

With DVC you purchase a set number of points. In our case we bought 200. Every year you get a new set of points (i.e 200) to use. Depending on where you want to stay (which resort), when you want to stay(like rack rates different seasons cost different points) and how you want to stay (studio, 1br, 2br, view, etc) it costs a certain number of points. You can use the points however you want and can bank used points to the next year or borrow next years points this year.

Through Disney I think the current cost per point for SSR and AKV are $104/$106 . This is a one time cost. You will never have to pay for points again. You do however have to pay a maintainance fee which again varies by resort but is slightly over $4 per point. This you pay every year.

For you stay at the boardwalk it would be 499 points for a standview or 582 points for a preferred view. If you go the DVC section on this site there is a calculator you plug in your dates, resort, etc and it will tell you how many points you need.

Dining plans and tickets are extra. Dinning plan is the same as non-dvc which I think is $37 per adult and $10 per child. Tickets you get a discount on AP's but not MYW tickets.

Hope that helps.

basic info for just renting

a stay with check-in on 12/14 and check-out on 12/27 for a preferred view at BWV would cost 582 pts. the point charts are in the top right-hand corner of the screen if you want to check my math or look at other dates...

(standard view rooms would cost fewer pts but i suspect all of those have already been booked...finding availability at this point for december for preferred view may be spotty. BWV owners have been booking those nights since january.)

...with dining plan...

daily rate per the DDP forum:
• $37.99 per guest 10 years old and over and
• $9.99 for children 3-9 years old.

appetizers and gratuities are extra.

renters must have the DVC member add the DDP for them, but you don't pay for the DDP till they arrive.

...and 10 basic MYW theme park tickets for only this year cost?

whatever the going rate at undercovertourist or mapleleaftickets is. or you can buy tickets at the park.

you're kind of on your own for tickets...DVC members get a $100 discount on APs but that's it for ticket discounts.

How about the same for Coronado?

using pts for a non-DVC resorts like coronado is a very costly plan. you would owe $95 to make the reservation plus the point cost of the room...which i would ballpark at around 400-420 pts for a single moderate hotel room for those nights.

Do you know the prices from the TimeShare Store?

yes - there is also a link for that in the top right-hand corner of the screen - DVC Resale Listings.

Nearly impossible at any price - those rooms have been booked for months already.

Like Crisi says, even if you have your own DVC points, if you don't already have a reservation, you won't be getting one at this point. It needed to be booked in January.
