Disney Vacation Club Announces 2021 DVC Member Cruise

I wonder if they will go ahead with booking. I am not willing to commit all money so far ahead of sailing in current market. Taking huge hit .

Yet, I am holding hope for May WDW VISIT. Our prepaid WDW vacation, but it’s a small hope. Maybe the July one will happen.

Booking starts 2 May for the June 2021 cruise. Not sure why it has to been booked so far in advance anyway. My prediction is that DVC will delay the booking time til after summer.

If only to give the CMs a break - if the parks are not yet open, they’ll be busy with cancellations and rebookings. It would seem to be difficult to sort between DCL MC calls and reservation calls that need attention.

Couple reasons. Allows DVC to play with inventory if people use points, and allows them to make money on the money in arbitrage if people pay cash, since you have to pay up at booking.

Member cruise is a for-profit venture for DVC. Long lead time allows for more profit on the cash position.

Found this note on the DVC 2021 MC Page this morning - booking window is being pushed back to late summer, date still TBD at this point. Not totally surprising, given the current state of uncertainty plus reduced cast member staffing.

Please note that the reservation window is being moved, so booking will open in late summer 2020. Check back for the booking date and more details.

Just read the update. Definitely more pressing issues for DVC to tackle right now.
I'm not on the 2020 DVC MC but hope it sails in August!
