Just have to say, that it's a pretty cool deal! I have almost 2 years to wait until we go back to Disney, and this is a fun way to stay connected to Disney and save at the same time! Plus, the bonus GC is not to shabby either! Seeing that I just signed up this morning, it's fairly empty at the moment...
Anyone else use this to save?

I've used it twice, basically because it allows me to consolidate gift cards (and I buy them with alarming frequency).

The first time I booked a cruise, and I was spoiled because the Cast Member was awesome and it was easy peasy (the only thing slightly weird is how you get your actual account number-requires an email with the first several ?12 and then either another email with the last 4 or you can see the last 4 in your account--I can't remember exactly since I just wrote it down! Not hard, just odd). So..

Two days ago I called to change our resorts for Feb. The CM could do that but her computer was undergoing "magical upgrades" and she told me to do it online which I couldn't do for room only.

Yesterday I called (on hold for 15 min) and the CM kept asking for my Visa or Gift Card number. I explained to her that it was the Disney Vacation Account but she didn't understand (sigh). I asked her if I could speak to her supervisor since she didn't know what I was talking about...and I was transferred to the survey (sigh again--well and some expletives). I didn't take the survey (needed to calm down), but called back. This time I had a wonderful CM and it was quick and efficient. February is paid off and I have a little money left in my DVA.

So, I will probably use the DVA again, but with the understanding that it still is not familiar to ALL CMs and I might have to call more than once to find a knowledgeable CM to help me. Also, bear in mind that when I called in May they wouldn't let my travel agent use it so I had to book the cruise myself--don't know if that policy has changed since I always book room only reservations.

Totally helps! Thanks! I too intend to buy mega amounts of gc (with Target redcard discount) nd plus I like getting the bonus gift cards from the account. And lastly, it keeps me connected with Disney! Almost 2 years to wait is so long!

I used mine to reserve room and tickets for july 2015 online it did take an email plus logging in to find my account number. But when I booked my room there was a place to enter my DVA number or a gift card was super easy to book.

Yes if you tell the CM, if you are reserving by phone, that's it is a vacation acct but to put it in as a gift card, it will work! I booked a room right after it started and found all this out the hard way but now it's a breeze

Things must have changed, because I just used my DVA to pay for part of my cruise through my DU travel agent. Pretty excited that it worked, as that's more free giftcards!
