With talk on the news lately about Dragon Challenge at Universal closing, rumors have now turned to a third expansion to Universal's Harry Potter areas (possibly Forbidden Forest / Weasley's Home / Floo Network).

According to the Orlando Business Journal, the new Universal expansion could open in 2020, the year after Disney's Star Wars Lands open on both coasts.

What would you like to see Disney announce to counteract Universals potential new 2020 opening? Are we in for another Disney v Universal battle?

The battles are silly. There's no reason for us to pit them against each other. Both are good. Go to both. Everyone wins. :)

We've never been to Universal before but are going to take one day out of our WDW trip in August. We know one day is probably not enough but we couldn't bear to cut out any of our Disney days and figure if we like it we'll make more time next visit.

Here's a relevant thread on the DIS's Universal forum:

Do you like Disney World or Universal more?

There is tons of information in that forum about visiting Universal and how to make the most of even one day there.

Have a wonderful trip this summer!

I agree, both are good (Disney is better IMO, but thats just me). Disney typically announces something big soon after Universal announces something, and vice versa. Just intrigued to see what people would like to see Disney announce if the Universal HP expansion comes to fruition...

Disney could dismantle the Tomorrowland Speedway, acquire the rights to Star Trek, and have a Star Trek expansion to Tomorrowland! :rolleyes1

Tomorrowland Speedway is already rumored to be going away. Not for Star Trek though unfortunately. Possibly something Tron themed...

That would be a mistake. Trek would be more sustainable long term.
Unfortunately Disney don't own Star Trek, Paramount does. And with the new Paramount Park coming to Kent, UK and talks of other sites around the world, I can't see them letting go of Trek too easily! Tron may be a mistake (although the ride in Shanghai does look pretty cool!), but Disney doesn't really have any other IP's remotely related to Tomorrowland theming. Apart from Wall-E I suppose.
