Hi, wondering if anyone out there ever purchased a stay at any of the vacation/hotel/timeshare places offered on ebay. I noticed one for thanksgiving and sounds good.

Let me know your thoughts!
Thanks

Hello!

If you're looking at one of the DVC property stays, it's pretty much the same as renting DVC points, but the prices are normally higher.

If it's one of the other timeshare properties, you may end up having to sit through a sales presentation..... :rolleyes1

My neighbor rented a BCV timeshare on ebay and was very happy with it. I actually talked to the same woman about a Boardwalk and OKW timeshare, but didn't end up going with her because she didn't have my dates for BWV and I really didn't want OKW. The woman's name was Arlene, I think, and I have her ebay name around here somewhere if you want it. She was a little pricier than most DVC rentals, but she had properties at most of the DVC resorts and she had MANY dates available. She also took the time to talk to me on the phone for about an hour. I wouldn't have any hesitation about using her, but I did notice some of the other ebay listings for DVC were not from people with as much feedback as she had.

Our first stay at DVC was through a booking I made on ebay at OKW. On that trip, we also went through the sales presentation, and ended purchasing. I think we are generally pretty easy to please, when it comes to hotels, etc, but, we were very satisfied with the experience (obviously).
At the time, we paid $500 for a Sun-Thurs night stay (5 days), so while it may have been more than renting points, it was less than most places we have stayed in Orlando.
I think we rented through Arlene, also.

If either of you have Arlene's ebay name could you please forward to me.
I would like to see if she has dates I would be looking for...perhaps XMas.
Thanks!

Got cash? Those dates are extremely hard to get except for those how make the reservation only to sell them to non-DVC members. Be ready to pay. Most members make their Christmas reservations no later than 7 months out. And then might be too late.
