Ok, this is my first attempt at a trip report, so please bear with me. We've just returned from a 2 week trip with the last 7 nights being at Disney.

Cast - Myself - 34, DH - 34, DS - 9, DS - 2 (In laws joined us for the last part of our trip bringing the total to 10)

Departure 3/22/03 - was an adventure in itself. The plan was to be on the road by 4:30 a.m. with the thought that the boys would go back to sleep and sleep for a good portion of the trip. Of course the best laid plans never seem to go according to plan. (they never went back to sleep) I was up at 3:50 and about to hop in the shower when...we lost our power. Ok, shower is out of the question, we got dressed and finished loading our vehicle. (by using candlelight and flashlights) Got the boys up and into the truck and it's beginning to snow. We actually made it out of the house on time and by the time we made it to the expressway it is snowing so hard we can hardly see. It took us well over 2 hours to go what would normally take 1 hour and by the end of that time the snow has let up. But it has made me more determined to take this much needed vacation.

Our plans for the first part of the trip were to visit friends in Kentucky for a couple of nights. We made it to there house by 2:30 p.m. so it wasn't a bad day at all. We had a great time while we were there. The only problem was, I fell down their steps, the first day of vacation, and thought I had broken my foot. Just badly bruised though. By Monday morning we were up and ready for our second leg of the trip.

We left Lexington and headed for Jacksonville, FL to spend some time with my aunt and uncle. After a few relaxing days at the ocean, a trip to the alligator farm in St Augustine, and no more falls we headed to Disney on Friday 3/28/03.

Ok, having a 2 yr old in the house, I don't have much time to write this, so I will be back w/ part 2 later. Hope I haven't bored anyone yet.

Snow storm, ?broken foot! How could anyone be bored? I can't wait or the next installment. Thanks for posting. I'll try to be patient.

Not the most relaxing way to start a vacation - but you were right - an adventure in starting - thanks for posting!
