I have never purchased travel insurance before. However, the increased cost of visiting Disney, in combination with the fact that our parents are somewhat infirm and elderly, has me thinking it might be worth it. Has anyone here purchased the travel insurance that Disney sells? Have you ever filed a claim, and how did it go? Was it easy or difficult dealing with the insurance company? Or, did you purchase travel insurance somewhere other than Disney, and if so, why, and how did that work out for you?

I submitted a claim through the Disney travel insurance that can be purchased when booking the trip the company is Aon. My father in law had a heart attack 6 days before we were to leave for our trip July 13th and he actually had bypass surgery on that day. Got word today they did not cover the airfare because my TA booked it and not Disney. In black and white on the Disney TA website it clearly states 3rd party airfare whether booked through Disney or a TA is covered. When I talked to the Aon agent today he said the airfare has to be booked through Disney. Therefore not reimbursing the $1500.00 for the three of us. He sent me the fine print but I have yet where to find it states that.

My cc has travel protection so I am going to submit a claim through them.

Extremely angry is an understatement. I should’ve known when I googled the company and saw all the bad reviews I was out of luck.
