We just got back today from 2 weeks at OKW. Has anyone else had bus problems this year?

We are early birds and usually get the 7:10 bus to the parks and we had big problems with early buses for the early morning parks.
We have never had a problem before and we have been members since 93.

Was it just these two weeks?

I haven't had your trouble yet, but have noticed that the busses seemed full, especially by the time it reaches the Hospitality House.

Could it be more visitors, more DVCrs or are there fewer busses?

We were down in May and we spoke with one of the bus drivers and he said that they were doing a lot of changing down there and not letting the drivers make any decisions. They were having to run one route if there was anyone there or not. From what we could gather in the past they could radio to each other and pick up people if there were a good number waiting to go somewhere. The driver said that they thought that there was just someone in the transportation management trying to justify there job or something to that effect. He encourged us to write and complain. He said that was the only way anything would get changed, and the drivers would support that 100%. Just thought I would pass that on. Don't have an address though.

When we were at OKW in May the bus service was a bit odd compared to earlier trips. When we went from OKW to MK, we rarely were dropped off at the OKW bus stop, but usually at some other resort's stop. On one trip, after leaving OKW we stopped throughout PO at each of their stops before continuing to MK.

Neither "oddity" made us very happy. We assumed they were caused by the "bus on demand" program.

We were also there in May and had no problems getting to parks from OKW. On early entry days we'd hit the bus stop around 6:50, and usually right at 7:00 the bus came. From there it completed it's trip around OKW and then went directly to the park. We also hardly ever got dropped off at the OKW stop...the drop off was usually closer to the main gate, so we didn't complain. Only one trip back to OKW was bad....quite a long wait from AK to OKW (couldn't quote you a time, as it was such a minor inconvenience in an otherwise WONDERFUL trip that I pushed it from my memory!)

ohiominnie :p

My daughter went to OKW and had no problem going from OKW to the parks, but when she tried to make to Downtown Disney for a Cirque du Soleil show she almost missed it because a driver was instructed to go to another location first. I think they are atempting some cost cutting measures that are causing visitor inconvience. There should be a posted maximum travel time between parks and resorts. Guests need to reach shows and restaurants on some predictable time table. I am not sugggesting last minute boarders be taken care of, but the guest should know what the maximum travel times are.

Our problem started on the first Monday, MK early morning. We got to the bus stop at 7:05 , next bus was Epcot, then AK, then MGM and by 7:45 still no MK bus. Next bus Epcot again and very empty. So I asked the driver to take us and everyone else to MK. Which he did -- Thanks you.
But for early morning, we have never had to wait until 7:45 for a bus usually there are 2 or 3 by that time.
Also, why run buses to parks that are not open.
Rest of the trip was the same for the early park hours.
I did speak to someone in transportation.... but
