Disney to cancel FPs if room is cancelled

So, to make sure I understand this clearly:

Scenario 1: If I am staying off site but booked a throwaway room for the first night, I will get 60 day FP+ booking for those two days (check in and departure), but the remainder of my trip will only be 30 days. As opposed to the old rolling 60 days .

Scenario 2: if I stay on site, but with a split stay between two resorts (let's say 10 nights split equally), at 60 days from check in I can book all my FP+ for the first 5 nights. But then can't book the remaining 5 days of FP+ until a few days later (60 days from my next "check in"). As opposed to the old way of being able to book your whole trip at once.

That seems to be the case

What people are now testing/debating is if you have a parallel stay that is longer than the one you keep and then cancel that one but still have the other one set/not adjusted will the FPs stay or not

Why would you cancel one?

Did you actually make the FPs. I have the same dates you do and I tried as well. It shows my window as open and lets me do everything up until the point where I need to hit Confirm. Then it tells me there is an error and I need to start over.

Also, it only gets that far on Safari. With Chrome and the MDE app, it doesn't show my window open. I bet with all the changes going on, it's causing glitches here and there. I'd keep an eye on those FPs if you were able to actually make them.

Edit:. And now it's gone from all. I did enjoy getting to see that as of today, anyway, there are morning 7DMT available for my 60+1.

i am using Chrome and YES I MADE ALL MY FASTPASSES starting April 28-May 3. i could have made them for April 27 and May 4 but we are not going to the parks that day. i was just suprised at the early booking window. I am happy to get FOP for 2 days. BTW i had my first night at POFQ but changed it to AKL since i had early morning scheduled for MK. But like i said before, 2 separate reservations (one night with dining plan and 6 nights room only) i will try and upload a screenshot to show i made ALL my FPs today at 62 days out from arrival.

Here is a new factual datapoint:

Split stays still do not open the FP window across from them (as of right this minute).
+
I have two continuous on site stays currently booked: April 25-26. And then April 26-May 6. I can only book FP for April 25 and 26.

I have 2 consecutive April 27-28 and April 28-May 4. I booked all my FP+ today. I took screen shots in case they "get lost"

Is this a room only reservation or a package?

first one is a package (dining plan added - i have an AP booked under the AP rate that expires 4/27) and the next 6 nights room only booked under the AP rate that starts 4/28.

Decided to pay the extra $100 to switch from POFQ to AKL so that we would not be changing resorts. these FPs were booked BEFORE i changed to AKL on 4/27. i have 2 different reservation numbers. One is considered a package and one is room only. LIke i said my FP window didn't open until 2/26 but i booked everything TODAY for all dates.

Yeah and I bet I'm not the only one that read the above and just signed in to try and book FPs early! I figured it was worth a quick check...

did you get to make early FP+? my daughter arrives May 7 and her she can make FP+ for May 7 and 8 but no more at this time. She is staying 8 nights.

Nope, window doesn't open until March, but I figured hey why not try? And now for fun I'll check each day as if there are unpredictable results using MDE (who woulda thunk) I'd like to be on the good side of it for once!
