Last time we went to Disney (1999) we had heard all about how we had to have photo id's, etc. and envisioned some nightmare wasting time at Guest Services when we wanted to be in one of the parks. Instead, we were able to buy tickets at our resort -- no photo required, just plastic cards indicating child or adult and type of pass. We are going next month and are curious as to how tickets are handled now. I've heard that they are paid for and ordered in advance, even at Disney Store, then mailed (photo later or has that gone by the wayside?) Prices at disney-ticketshop.com are best I have seen yet, but if we buy these is it somehow more involved to use them to get into the park, i.e., are they some type of voucher that we have to "convert" in some way after we get to Disneyworld?? (Hope this makes some sense!)

Hi Sharper,

These passes would work like almost all of WDW's ticket media works now. You do not have to have any photo taken. You just have the pass scanned as you pass through the ticket gates at the parks. It will then tell when the pass was last used and how many days are left on it.
If you have an AP, then you will have your fingers scanned. They actually take a scan of the bones in your first 2 fingers to assure that it is YOU that is using the pass.

There are no vouchers for anything but Annual Passes since they are time sensitive to the date of the first use.

I hope that this helps.

:)

BTW - I would make your purchase at Disney-ticketshop soon. They DO have the best prices tat I have seen and I cannot imagine those prices lasting much longer.
