Disney Tickets - Undercover Tourist NOT the Cheapest Option

If you buy tickets from working advantage or tickets at work will there be any problem linking them to your MDE account and booking your FP+ when your booking window opens? This will be our first trip and I need to buy our tickets soon. Thanks!

To alleviate the multiple gift card issue, you can open a Disney Vacation Account and load all the Disney Gift Cards onto there. Then you'll have just one number to enter as payment. Oh, and you get another $20 per $1000 you put into that account. That's another 2%:thumbsup2

Though not as fantastic as some of the other discounts listed, I usually get my Disney GC's at BJ's. I have a rewards membership so it's 2% back, plus I put it on my disney visa and get another 2% and the cards themselves are discounted about 5%. It's a little easier then the gift card to buy a gift card to pay for my vacation (though at a 12% discount, it's worth it IMO).

We wait until Kroger offers 4x the points on Gift cards and use the Chase Disney Visa to pay . Here's how it saves, $250 purchase counts as groceries so we get 2% back on Disney Visa.($5.00) The 250 card purchase allows us 1,000 points from Kroger. 1,000 points allows us to purchase 35 gallons of gas at $1.00 off per gallon ($35.00) so that one $250.00 purchase equals a $40.00 discount.
That being said, we visit about 2-3 times a year and use the gift cards for food, husband's AP, resort, etc.
I just bought a ticket from UT last week, 10 day, park hopper ,WP&M, no expiration $769.53.
I thought it was a great price and much cheaper than Orbitz
That doesn't work with our Kroger (we don't get any of the 4X deals in Louisiana). We only get $0.10 off a gallon for 100 points no matter how many points we rack up. Unused points expire.

Thank you! That is exactly what I wanted to know and I think that is what I plan to do.

Just a heads-up for those interested. Target now has Disney Gift Cards available online. They weren't there an hour ago, and they have been selling out quickly. I was able to snag a $1,500 Target GC from Raise at 6.5% interest the other day (had to verify with a phone call asking for proof of identity - had to answer several questions that are available through public record - a nice security feature, if you ask me). A few weeks ago there were a TON of high value ones listed between 7 and 8%, but the pickings are slim now. I stalked Raise for 4 days straight until I finally caught one at 6.5 and decided to pull the trigger. I'm happy that I did b/c I haven't seen any that high since (except for the few $10 ones at 8.1% that are gone in less than 20 seconds).

Now, I'm looking into a Disney Vacation Account to save a bit more. I don't know anything about that. Can I do that and ONLY buy tickets? Our hotel is set (renting DVC points for a stay at Bay Lakes) and I have no interest in a dining plan.

Thanks again for all the replies, including advice, corrections, further ideas for savings, etc. I'm not used to being a poster in a forum - I usually lurk. It's nice to have such a positive experience. So, thank you.

They sent me a $10 off coupon after that, so look for it!

Yes, you can use it just to buy tickets.

You can use the Disney Savings Account for anything, even saving for (gasp) non-Disney vacations. The only down side is no interest, just Disney gift cards. Still, not a bad reward.

Thank you JessLyn! I've been kind of freaked out for several days because I had $600 worth of gift cards from Raise on my Target account and they haven't had Disney cards available. whew!

I wish I would have know about that about a month ago. I ordered Cards through the Raise/Cardpool/Target method and had a stack. I waited over an hour to speak to someone in he ticketing department to order my tickets through Disney and apply my many giftcards. I didn't think the savings was worth the hassle at the time because I kept getting disconnected and having to rewait again. Now, I will probably do it this way again but load them online. Thanks for the tip!!

Would it work to get the Target Disney cards through a shop at home site, like Ebates and get cash back too?

Another option would be to purchase the buy 3 get 2 days free deal through Orbitz and then add another day to your tickets at Guest Services after you've used your tickets at least once at the parks. If you go through ebates to make the purchase you'll receive another 3% cash back. I also used my Disney Visa and got the 1% from that as well.
