Disney Tickets - Undercover Tourist NOT the Cheapest Option

I've been doing the same calc! Except I think 12% may be on the high side. Raise has been averaging 6%, and last fall it was around 4%. Not sure how long the 7%+ will last :(

My question now is, where do I get no expiration tickets from Disney? I'm considering getting those to use along with APs for the next few years.

No matter what the Raise discount, the total discount isn't quite as high as the OP calculates. It's close, but not exact.

Seven (six, four) percent off is a net cost of $93 ($94, $96) per hundred dollars spent. The five percent RedCard discount comes off that net amount, not the original hundred - so $4.65 ($4.70, $4.80) additional discount, not $5.00.

To get No Expiration, either order online from UCT or other reseller offering the option, or purchase at a ticket booth at WDW.

Has anyone bought Tangers gift cards and used them to buy Disney gift cards? Our school has the SCRIPT program and it is 8% for Tangers, Target is 2.5%. Also if you can, does the Disneystore still sell park tickets?

We wait until Kroger offers 4x the points on Gift cards and use the Chase Disney Visa to pay . Here's how it saves, $250 purchase counts as groceries so we get 2% back on Disney Visa.($5.00) The 250 card purchase allows us 1,000 points from Kroger. 1,000 points allows us to purchase 35 gallons of gas at $1.00 off per gallon ($35.00) so that one $250.00 purchase equals a $40.00 discount.
Do you have to buy all 35 gallons in one visit? If so, that's a logistical challenge to maximize the savings.

Yes, you have to buy all 35 gallons at once. DH and I just drive separate cars and fill them both. If we know we won't use it all, DS will drive his car in too and we fill his also. We feel it's very much worth it.:)

Due to a divorce and other circumstances we no longer can afford to return to Disney World, but in the past when we could go we always bought our tickets from UT and saved quite a bit. Always was very pleased with them. Last trip was 2009 though. Things could have changed.

I just recently found out about buying Target cards through raise then using them to buy Disney gift cards. My question is, does Target run out of gift cards online quite a lot? I've seen people post here before about them being out of stock. Today I bought $600 worth of Target cards on raise, and now Target.com is out of Disney gift cards, frustrating.

Yes, they come and go. But it's been more frequent since Christmas. It may be they just don't get as much stock or because they lifted the 3 per order rule or perhaps it's seasonal. I would check every day mid morning. The last time they were only in stock for less than 7hrs.

Get the Target app if you can on your phone. Transfer the raise card on there so there's no chance of something happening to the card... worst case, if you run out of time, you can go buy it at the store if you got target card for more than 5% off.

There are credit cards that give 3%, 5%, and even 6% cash back on grocery store purchases. Combine that with the Kroger 4x fuel rewards and Target gift cards, and you're getting close to a theoretical 25% discount.

I have been using UCT for a long time, and just started in on the Raise/Target/Disney hack because it is definitely a better deal, for what is not a lot of effort on my part, since saving money is my favorite game! :woohoo:

Due to this particular thread I tried the Raise/Target route and got 8% Raise/5% Target discount (total ~12.5%) which was a much better discount than Undercover Tourist. I went to my local Disney Store and bought five 7 day passes using the gift cards. A little bit of effort but it saved me over two hundred bucks.

I just wanted to point out - if you are doing a stand alone ticket purchase through Disney directly you can only use 2 methods of payment. So two gift cards total. You could split up the transaction, but I have no idea how that'd all even out.

Sometimes people have success calling ticketing directly for more cards, but naturally if you're counting on that it won't happen. You could do it in person with as many gift cards as you want, but you'd miss the advance FP time.

Obviously, going to the Disney store is also an option.

Agreed! We always can use the 35 gallons. I drive a lot for work so I always need gas, but we also fill gas cans for lawn mower, pontoon, etc.

I just asked for opinions on this idea on a different thread. Looking forward to hearing everyone's input. Figuring these things out is not my forte.

See my post above, All of the outlets I mentioned sell no expiration tickets at the prices quoted.

Thank you dundey! I'll go back and reread. I thought only limited outlets sold the non-expiring tks. Since I've never bought anything but and AP, I'm a bit of a fish out of water.

To get the target card discount when paying with gift card make sure you choose target card first then after u see 5% discount in total edit payment method to gift card and the 5% stays as well as free shipping.

My Target says Giftcards are not available online. Can you use a Raise bought Card in the store? Can you transfer the amount onto a different Target card?

Plus the two forms of payment must fully pay for the item(s) being purchased. So say you have 3 $100 gift cards and your purchase is $300, you can only use one gift card and then say a credit card for the other $200. Using two gift cards would only cover $200 of the $300 total so you are limited to using one gift card and one other form of payment that pays the entire balance.

Last time I asked about using more than one gift card, I was transferred to another area that I was told might be able to process more than one gift card, but a recording on that line said "We are experiencing higher than normal call volume. The current wait time is 30 minutes". So I did not pursue it further at that time.

Multiple gift cards can ALWAYS be used to purchase tickets directly from Disney by using the ticketing number 407-566-4985, Option 5 (This was the option I used in December and last October). By going throgh this line, multiple gift cards are treated as ONE FORM of payment. I used 21 cards in December to purchase tickets as gifts. Many have reported using in excess of 30. This is the reason you will sometimes get the "The current watime is 30 minutes" message; somebody beat you to it and is having the CM enter all their gift cards. It can be painful and time consuming, but saving money and getting the best deal usually is!

I'm worn out thinking about all the thought and actual work that goes into saving a few dollars.

I'd much rather get my tickets from UndercoverTourist on my rewards CC and be done with it.

Thanks for the insight as to how it works. In my case it didn't really matter as I am using the cards for other expenses at WDW instead. Hence my not pursuing it further. But that is good to know for future reference.
