Disney themed bedroom for tween/teen girl?

We did a version of Pirates of the Caribbean Suite in our daughter's room. It is Disney and fun but not cartoonish..

They do have a Big Thunder Suite that you can get ideas from.

Most things can be found at Hobby Lobby at their sales.

We did maps, a globe, a big treasure chest for storage, keys, lanterns, wrought iron and a signed poster of Capt Jack Sparrow.

Okay now I want to live in the Big Thunder Suite.

Grafxgirl, I love David Doss's art and the beach, I would be over the moon if my dd wanted her room just like your dd's.

My husband and I love his work too! We met him on one of our trips to WDW and he signed several of our pieces.

My girls are almost 24 & almost 21. The 24 year old moved to HI nearly 2 years ago. Their room was purple, pink and green up until Memorial Day weekend 2012! so that makes the younger one still living home nearly 20 at the time... she only painted it because she was tired of looking at her friends names on the walls (where I told her NOT to do it ) she painted it tan and still has her stuffed animals all over it. My entire house is Disney. The hall bath has Princess and shower curtains currently up. Even my silverware and dishes are Disney.. did I ever outgrow it?

I do like that Speck finish. That might be special enough to satisfy some of her need to "decorate".

I did my girls rooms last year. At 10 my older dd wanted nothing to do with anything "babyish" like fairies anymore but my 7 year old loved them. her room we did with lavender walls and tan carpeting, some framed fairy prints, butterfly mobile, and a vinyl decal over her bed that says "all you need is faith trust and a little pixie dust." I put some flower hardware on her dresser, kept the sheets and comforter in a floral but she has a disney throw blanket. Some decals and stencils on some other objects like her trash can and some pink, purple and other light color streamer style curtains tied back with a flower tie. Basically if she has an urgent need to be all grown up at her 10th birthday like my other daughter I can changed out the whole room in 20 minutes and you would never know it was fairies.
Some kids love it forever, and some go through phases... can be costly if you don't stick to just the accents!
