is there anyone else that is going the week of thanksgiving 2007???
where are you staying???
what are your plans???
this will be my 1st time and i just want it to be perfect. any help would be great. we have 12 people total going, friends and family. my friend laurie and her family, my cousin chase and girlfriend jasime, and myself along with my husband and 5 year old son. none of us have ever been to disney, so we are so excited. each family will be doing their own thing, with the exception of thanksgiving dinner. that evening we will be going to dinner as a family, just because all of us have never been with out our extended family on a holiday.
suggestions on dinner reservations would be great. where should start, which theme park. we are staying at a pool home in emerald isle, so we will be driving to each theme park.
any help would be great.
i have no idea where to start.

OH....... there is SOOOOOOOO much to say!! LOL, First off, Welcome to the DIS! You will find TONS of great info here!
I would also say to pick up the "Unoffical Guide to WDW" book and study it! LOL It is worth the money - especially for a first timer..
Read others trip reports, you will learn what to do, and what not to do! LOL
We go for TG every year.. just came back a couple weeks ago.. had fun!!
Next yr, 2007, we are staying in POR. We usally stay in a deluxe, but we are going on the DCL in Dec. 2007 (4 weeks after WDW) so we went to a mod resort to help save.. (Yes, i know.. tough decisions!! LOL)
Anyway, you will have a blast!! We went this yr and last yr with 14 of us total, and did our own things most days and met up for TG dinner, which we always do the Hoop De Doo show, but i totally understand that it's not most peoples ideal dinner for TG.. LOL, As it's not mine either, but the inlaws LOVE it, and they pay for the trip, so we go.. Know what i mean!? LOL They have gone 20+ years in a row to WDW for TG week. They know the same waiter by name at the HHD! LOL It's pretty funny.

Anyway, you have lots of time to read the boards and read the book, please ask any specific questions you have and we can do our best to answer them.

We've only been to WDW twice and both times were during Thanksgiving (2004 and this year).

You're definitely headed in the right direction by knowing that you need a plan. As the OP stated, there is tons of information on this board and it is a fabulous resource.

Next thing to do would be to pick up a copy of the "Unofficial Guide to WDW."

Check out other websites such as www.allearsnet. and www.mousesavers.com

If you're going to eat at WDW restaurants, make sure you make your reservations far in advance. Check out the DIS boards and allears.net for recommendations. You'll find the menus contained within these websites.

Both times we've gone, we've felt that Disney has been crowded. The beginning of the week isn't too bad, but watch out from Thanksgiving through the weekend. It's really rough!

Research, plan, and ask lots of questions. You're in great company!!
