Disney survey for the Aug-Dec FD PIN offer

Did anyone else get an email survey regarding the last FD PIN code? It had a lot of questions asking the order of events on how I booked. Very specific questions about how I learned of the offer and how I was able to book it. Disboards was mentioned in one of the questions. Very strange survey.

Yes Smitch, I received that email today and did take the survey. I too have a package booked with the pin code for Pop Century Oct 19-27.

Our dates are Oct. 18-26 at POP. That survey is not sitting well with me at all. I hope they are not going to limit pins or deals only to people who have not yet booked. I guess we'll see in time.

I'm sure that they are trying to figure out where the rumors/leaks are being posted and who is providing the information. Thus, the survey. I sure hope that this doesn't mean that the rumors/leaks will stop because I've benefited from the info. posted here on the Dis many times.

I was just coming to post about this survey. My sister got the e-mail with this survey and she is the one who had the PIN. Should be interesting as she did no planning at all, I did. But that is our deal, I do the planning which I enjoy and tell her how much she owes.

We are booked at POFQ October 19-26.

I did not get an e-mail with the PIN nor did my sister. I read about people on the DIS getting the PIN so I called.We were already booked at POFQ when the PIN came out but I had made the reservations not my sis.

Did anyone who got the survey actually receive an e-mail or snail mail with the PIN or are they looking for people who called in and asked? If not for the DIS postings about the PIN we would never have known she had one but I wouldn't call that a rumor it was people who actually received one.

I will do the survey when I get home.

Disney would have tons of angry customers if they decided to do that. Think of all the people who book in advance hoping for FD or RO discounts, they would be furious if they couldn't get a GP discount for their trip. There were already lots of angry people when their dates were not covered (August, 1st week of December) by the FD offer this year.

It's because of everyone booking in advance of a discount that has caused those weeks not to be included. Why give a discount when the system shows the capacity is where they want it!

This is precisely why I'm delaying booking our trip for next year. We go every other year. It seems I don't get PINS if I book ahead of time. But this last year, I can't even tell you how many PINS I've gotten from emails, and we weren't going. I used to book a year in advance. Then, one year, I waited to book till 6 months in advance. I'm doing that again, because that is the time this year that I started getting bombarded with PINS every month.
I get that people are nervous about not having a room they want available for them, but if you do get a PIN you may have to change based on availability anyway to use it. Plus, one year when I was booked ahead and then a General Public FD was offered, it was only 3 months in advance and I still was able to get the room style and resort I wanted.
The only negative I see, which is why I will only wait 6 months, is that if nothing is offered I still want to be able to book while there are available AAA room rates.

I am always booked before receiving PINs, too. I booked in Feb. and received the room PIN for summer and the FD PIN.
