disney stores sponsering a 'magical wood' in sandridge

Oh I wonder does it look like the 100 Acre Wood from the Winnie the Pooh stories is there a possible link to the books? Or could it be part of their wildlife preservation and conservation work like the conservation area in Florida?

the tv news didnt saw much and catn find it on bbc website. its with the woodland trust so we shall just have to wait and see

Found it on a local London site for St Albans feature is about Mickey Mouse in Heartwood Forest, the Walt Disney Co is to create a 850 acre site of 600,000 trees to be planted over the next few years between Weathampstead (sp?) and Sandridge to create the largest native forest in England thw Disney Store shops are to sponsor a 50 acre site which will be known as "The Magical Wood" by introducing a range of re-usable bags with sperial logos featuring Winnie the Pooh and Piglet.
So there you go.

I have an update if anyone is interested. From April 2nd, Disney Store UK (Europe) will be supporting Earth Day under the banner "Trees, like friends, need love too". We have a new reusable bag coming out with a European exclusive design on it of Winnie TP and Piglet (and a tree). THey'll be £2 like the other bags and £1 will go to the woodland trust. They'll also be a whole range of matching products - tshirts, mugs, stationary, canvas bags, etc. As well as some kids games and competitions. We started getting stuff in and it's cute.

From that date Disney will be charging for carrier bags BUT it's because money from the carrier bags will go to the Woodland Trust in support of both their normal work AND the 50acre Magical Wood project.
Guests will be able to see how much money is being raised as each store will have a barrometer of money raised to date, I believe they are hoping to raise a total of about £250,000.

Anyway, that's what I have. Hope that helps answer some of the questions about the magical wood and bag tie in.

Thanks for the info on the other merchandise available, any ideas roughly on prices? I may tempt the family up to the Metrocentre for a look in the Disney Shop;) on our way to the cinema in May.
