DH & I took a day trip to Pittsburgh yesterday to do some shopping at Ikea and decided to visit Ross Park Mall as well so we could check out the Disney Store. There hasn't been one around us for years & years. Once we got there, we realized that it's going out of business & everything in the store is 25% off!

So sad for Pittsburgh Disney-lovers but OMG, talk about budget buster!! The still had a ton of stock left (so I'm guessing this is a new development)... we got so much for DD for Christmas, birthday, our October trip.

Sign at the door said the location would close on 6/25 or earlier.

I see you are in NE Ohio. I'm pretty sure there is still a Disney store at Mentor mall. Its still listed on disneystore.com too

The Ross Park Disneystore was a temporary store, never meant to be permanent. I hope they do return there as an Imagination Park store in the future.

Yes, there is a permanent store South of Pittsburgh at a mall called South Hills Village.

I didn't even realize the store at Ross Park was open.

Yeah... but does Mentor have an Ikea??? Pittsburgh wins! :lmao:

I think there's another one in the NE Ohio vicinity too, but I don't remember where. Far enough from where I'm at (Akron area) that I've never made the trip to it.

That makes sense that the Ross Park store was temporary... it didn't seem very "Disney Store"-ish. But then again, it had also been a good 5-6 years since I've been to a Disney Store so I thought maybe their design had changed to something more mature and less Disney-ish.

The stores in Burlington and Peabody MA are closing too! It's such a bummer!!!

I actually got an e-mail from Disney about 2-3 weeks ago letting me know about Ross Park closing. Since I can walk to the store at South Hills Village, I didn't pay it much mind.

I've always thought that store looked temporary! But I hope they open another store in Ross park, our 3yo will be devastated as it is her favorite place to go! I guess we will have to make the trek to south hills village from now on

I've never been to Ikea :scared1: Though we have a trip to the Pittsburgh Ikea planned for sometime this summer!

The Pittsburgh IKEA is the best one I've been to.

We live an hour and 1/2 from Pittsburgh, so we are up there several times a year. We always fly out of Pittsburgh, and IKEA is on the way to the Airport - SO, we have been known to stop a few times!

I am a huge fan of their Swedish Meatballs! MMMM With the Lingonberry relish, and the brown gravy, and red skin potatoes - MMMM It's not even close to lunch time yet - and I'm an hour and 1/2 away - oh well - have to save it for another day! :lmao:

Gotta say I LOVE the IKEA in Pitt and Ross Park Mall (they are right by where my family lives). It's sad that the Disney Store is closing but i never realized it was temporary, it's been open for quite a number of years if I remember correctly. We haven't had a Disney store near where I live for quite some time so it was always nice to visit the store there.

I think I will make a trip this weekend! thanks so much!

There is one in North Olmsted @ Great Northern Mall (about 5 minutes from my house). I  IKEA! We are trying to make a trip out there in the next couple weeks.
