Hello everyone my husband and I just purchased for the first time recently. We are sooooo excited.
Before we purchased I was on (I believe it was this board) asking all sorts of questions. THANKS to everyone who was so patient with me.

Moving on, my question is how would I go about getting a share of Disney stock. I would love to surprise DH with it for his bday next month. I was just on "mousesavers" and they had a piece on it but didn't say how to go about getting outside of going to a local broker. Does anyone know of this. It also stated you can purchase it framed. Any answers on how?
ThanksTHANKS

I think that what you are looking for is One Share . They allow you to buy one share of stock, and offer frames. HTH!

Go to www.oneshare.com

The fee to buy it is a little high IMO,but still worth it. I got one for my wife and its pretty cool to have it framed on the wall.
Also dont buy one of there frames. Too much $$$

THANK YOU ALL SO MUCH. I'M SO BAD AT THIS COMPUTER COMMUNICATION STUFF I WASN'T SURE I EVEN DID IT RIGHT.

I CAN'T WAIT TO SURPRISE DH. HE HAS ALWAYS TALKED ABOUT WANTING TO OWN A SHARE. THIS WILL BE THE NEXT BEST THING TO BEING AT SSR (FOR NOW).

WE ARE BANKING OUR POINTS IN ORDER TO TAKE MY BROTHER AND HIS FAMILY THE FOLLOWING YEAR.
I JUST HOPE I DON'T BURST BETWEEN NOW AND THEN.

There is a $39 fee for purchasing stock through this service. It will be cheaper purchasing it through a brokerage account.

Not necessarily. These days, you cannot have your broker issue you the paper without paying a fee. That fee varies upon the broker and is generally in the $20 to $40 range. This is on top of whatever commissions you have to pay to buy one share - maybe another $10 to $30.

Well, the one share is nice to have, how about a larger chunk for your retirement account, given the percentage of your entertainment/ recreation dollar ends up with the Disney Company; you know, the Peter Lynch method, buy companies whose stuff you buy. Hold the shares long term and vote the proxies every year ::yes::

Congratulations and Welcome Home :)

And welcome to our little community on the DIS!

As to the stock, this is a very pricey way to buy Disney stock and expensive for the company. It matters little where you buy it or where you have it matted and framed -- you will pay a premium for the service, the share of stock and the presentation. I believe mousesavers has a coupon for a discount at one share. Here is the link:
