Does anyone know if they are going to add another drop off with the buses. I was just there a few wks ago, and I am not liking the drop off, it's a great big hike for someone in a wheelchair to get to the world of disney store. I loved it when we got dropped off at the market place. I really hope they add another. And the pick up, staying at pop was so far to push myself.

As of right now they have not announced the addition of additional bus stops. The rumours are 1. The original bus stops will be used by the Disney Springs area good neighbor hotels. and 2. This would hopefully pick up the amount of traffic that went by and hopefully into all the stores that have been added. Before, many guests weren't walking that far down...only those who used the parking garage. Now they are sorta kinda forcing the resort guests down that way....at least if they use the bus to DS.

And for the record, I agree!! The location of the new bus stops sucks!!

When we pulled in on the Resort bus this past weekend, I have to admit it: I was kind of surprised - I had hoped for a Parks-style bus pick up/drop off single location. SO much easier all the way around... and ideally it would be located somewhere along the "center" of that looooooooong stretch of shopping and dining.

We've just come back and was quite annoyed by the location of the resort bus stops - especially when coming back and we were almost at the furthest end - and that's staying at AKL which is a deluxe resort. I'm sure they've done it just to make people walk through the new expensive shopping area, but we don't go to DS to do designer clothes shopping, and we only had a couple of hours there as we'd already checked out of our resort to fly home. Wasting half an hour walking to and from the bus stops was NOT convenient, and I'm glad I hadn't had my rented scooter collected yet or I'd never have been able to do the walk.

In fact, OH and I never even made it to the area where all the restaurants are: after going into just 3 shops (to get my Pandora charm and use up our SCs on treats at Goofy) and having an ice cream at Ghiradelli's we ran out of time and had to go back to the resort (to have my scooter collected).

I'm looking forward to next year's trip, when we'll be staying at OKW and will have the resort boat to drop us right in the middle and pick us back up from there, too.

They built it in the middle to make it easier for Disney transport as they building private bus lanes in the main road for the Disney buses to use. So instead of having to widen the whole road to add the lanes in both directions they just have to do it to the to where the new station is.nAlso now instead of all the buses having to go all the way to the end and then come back they can cut that time and speed up the run and get buses moving quicker.

After awhile if they see it not working or guest not happy maybe then they will decide to reopen the other bus station before they get rid of it or do what ever their going to do to it.

Yes a little bit had to do with putting you in the middle where the shopping was but if you look at how much the bus has to travel to the other station Be the new one. You tind the new one is quicker and will save Disney time and money then in turn get more guest buses quicker and make more guest happier.

I know many able bodied guests who are not happy with the loccation of the new bus stops. I have not heard anyone say they think it is an improvement. Some are tolerant of the change but they don't find it to be an improvement.

I never said it was and improvement it is it a new station compared to the old one. It just not on a location that some guest like which is fine and Disney most likely knew hat guest would not be happy as everything they do they have a certain amount of guest that find something wrong when their really isn't. Disney built two new parking garages and they decide to replace he old bus stops with these new one only diffenrce is their closer to stores instead of being in the parking lot like the old stop use to be. And besides cutting the make place stop from he run change is hard to accept for some people some I easier then others and then some it takes awhile.

Mybe Disney will reopen the other stop to make some they happy and to make those guest happy and to tolerate the free transportation.

The rumour (from very reliable sources) is that the Marketplace bus stop will be used by other hotels such as those on Hotel Plaza blvd.
I very strongly doubt they will reopen these stops to Disney's own hotels. Yes, there will always be those who object to a change. But not all changes are good or smart business decisions. Time will tell if this was a good move or not...
I believe it is going to cost them on site customers but they may make up for it with the locals and off site guests. That's my opinion, no one has to agree with it but that doesn't make it wrong.

Your right

I think it be good if they move the off site buses and hotel plaza buses to that stop. So they can maybe move the buses they park at the exit of the orange garage to that spot. Yea it might coast them some customers like you said but I think Disney will make change and make up for it in other ways.

I think if they tested this one stop before they did this with doing it with the old stop in the middle for let say a month maybe then they would kept the other stop. Because on paper in a room it looked good to Disney to have two garages and the bus stop in middle it be the transportation hub. And then seeing how much they save by having buses just go to that stop and how much quicker they can make the runs. Now they added a theme park buses one way so that one way or Disney trying to make it up.

Sorry if I came of rude are nasty everyone is entitled to their opinion and I should of worded I better to repeat yours.
