This next trip will be the first time without a car in quite a while. Due to concern about info I've seen being out of date, I have a couple of questions:

(1) The buses that used to run between theme parks and DS were discontinued and apparently are not coming back. I assume the workaround is to walk to a nearby Disney hotel and take their bus. Is it better to take the theme park's bus to Saratoga Springs and walk it from there?

(2) I've been wondering about using Lynx to travel between my I-drive hotel (near Pointe Orlando) and DS. It looks like I could take Link 38 to Destination Parkway, then transfer to Link 350 to DS. Is this really time consuming? Any other reason that this might not be a good idea?

(3) The DS map I have from last time indicates two different ride-share locations. Do both operate at all times? You just tell the Lyft/Uber app which one you want?

Thank you.

1. Correct; just bear in mind that the only parks with a short walk to a resort are MK and EPCOT. That said, you can always hop on a Disney bus to any resort and head over to DS from there. I would avoid going to Saratoga Springs; that’s a long walk.

2. That would be extremely time consuming and inconvenient. I would just use rideshare or taxi.

3. Correct

The Lynx bus route I’ve been on were fine with lots of CMs traveling to and from WDW. Clean, on time, what I’d expect.

Sounds like a good plan to take the SSR bus to the park of your desire. If you are going to EPCOT/HS probably easier to take a DS bus to the Lake Crescent area and walk to either park.

You choose the pick up area for ride shares before calling in the ride. So pick the area closest to you when ready.

As anytime your at Disney time=money, I would be far more inclined to take a Ride Share from your hotel to the park. You've saved the money by not renting a car or paying for parking already.

Taking a bus from a theme park to SSR and getting off at the Congress Park stop leaves a 5 minute walk to DS.

Thanks for the replies. I had forgotten that some of these resorts have multiple bus stops. I've stayed only at the All-Stars and the (pre-Skyliner) Pop Century, with no bus sharing at the All Stars when I was there.

You can also take a bus to Saratoga, get off at any stop, and transfer there to a Saratoga to DS bus, or take the bus to the Springs stop at Saratoga and make the 5-minute walk through the main building to the boat dock to catch a DS launch. Saratoga has a really good QS restaurant, and we sometimes do the last option I mentioned with a layover for lunch.

Regarding transportation to DS from Disney resorts - my route would depend on my destination in DS. If I intended to stay more on the West Side or in the Town Center area, I would consider taking a bus from a resort in order to be dropped off at the bus station, which is more centrally located. If I mostly wanted the Marketplace end, then a ride to SSR and walk from there might be more reasonable.

Here’s the DS map: https://www.wdwinfo.com/maps/disney-springs.htm. Note the location of the bridge from SSR and the boat dock near it, which is where the boats from SSR, OKW, and POR/POFQ resorts dock.
