Hi,

We arrive at MCO at 8am on 3/12. If we were to gather bags and rental car and go straight to DS, how involved and crowded would it be to get parked and visit World of Disney and perhaps 1 or 2 other places? We haven't been to DTD or DS since construction began. I will have a little shopper in tow, we'll be hungry, and getting a stop at a store or 2 out of the way will satisfy them until we can get checked in at the Dolphin and move on to Epcot. I'd also like to take advantage of our one-day car rental and visit then so we can avoid a bus trip later. BUT if it is congested and crowded and hard to navigate, even that early on a Sat., then maybe it will take too long. I know buses from resorts run as early as 8:30. When do the shops open?

At 8 am you will be fine! DS doesn't open until 9am!

When we were there last summer DS opened at 10am, we were there a couple minutes after 10 (our check out was 10am and I think we did it at 9:55) and had our run of the place. It worked out really well since we decided to Design our own tee and since it was soo early the wait for the shirts was only 30 minutes (I have heard later in the day it can be an hour or two).

You'll be fine.:)

The Springs' shops open at 10:00 AM and, just like the Parks,DS won't be "slammed" for a while after open.:)

DS doesn't officially open until 10am, if you arrive before you can walk around certain areas but all the shops/restaurants will still be closed. With that said, based on what is already open, I really like the new DS concept , the actual Town Center with the gurgling springs should be opening at some point this year..

Yay! That's all great news. I figure with getting bags and the car we won't be there until probably 9am. It sounds like we could even make a quick grocery stop and still get there before the shops open at 10.

It also looks like we can grab a bite at Earl of Sandwich, Starbucks or Wolfgang Puck Express before the lunch hour.

Thanks so much!

Yep, night is really when DS comes to life and gets busy. Any other time and you should be alright. It's still Disney though, but the earlier the better.
