Will be heading from SSR to FW for horseback riding. Figure walking to DS and getting a FW bus will be the fastest way to get there. (??) Will be in the morning though. Anyone know what time DS buses to FW start operating?
TIA

I don't know about the start times, but regarding the question in the subject line--the buses will drop you off at the Outpost, which is right in front of the trail ride corral (there is a small hut/building where you register, but it's pretty clear once you're there).

If you take an Uber/Lyft to Fort Wilderness, they will also drop you off in the same part of the resort, but my minimal experience with rideshares there is that drivers find it confusing (or at least ours--to pick us up at FW did--probably because of the busy entry roads for campers checking in?).

If you're wanting to do a pony ride, they are back at the new Tr-Circle-D barn at the opposite end of the resort (near the water), and you'll need to take an internal bus once you arrive at the Fort.

also not sure buses will be running from DS that early also you didnt ask but if you would end up taking bus to MK, boat dock is at other end of resort. Just get directions at boat to bus depot which is a short walk from dock and you can take any color to other end. driver will probably ask where you are going just tell him other end of resort. that will get to to where PP said DS bus would drop you off

Thank you. Good tip about taking the bus of any color.!
I was hoping the bus dropped you off at the Tri-Circle D Ranch, closest to Vista Blvd., where the trail rides start from. I just have to find out what time those buses start running from DS, because we want to do an early-ish morning ride.
Plan B is to take the SSR bus to MK then the boat to the FW. Then the internal bus from the Settlement bus stop of FW to Tri Circle D.

all internal buses no matter the color stop at both depots. only problem could if I remember correctly is yellow as it could still go on to Wilderness Lodge before going back to other end. they just go different routes thru the campground. been years since we bused to DS but if I remember correctly they dont start until afternoon. I am guessing you will end up with plan B

Things have been changed around a bit in FW. "The Outpost" section, where the trail rides begin (near the main entrance) is now the big, new barn of Tri-Circle-D Ranch. The Tri-Circle-D that is in the Settlement section and where they had (still have?) the pony rides for little kids. It's confusing to have two locations, a mile apart, named the same thing.

Thanks again
I kind of thought they might not start til later, thats why I asked. Plan B will probably be it then. Good to hash all this out ahead of time.

Unless things have changed, it stops at Settlement in both directions. Sometimes the marquee didn't change at Settlement.

So if it's heading to WL, the marquee will say either WL or Settlement. If it's heading to Outpost, the marquee will say either Outpost or Fort Wilderness.
