I understand that area is going to be the Town Center. According to the "story" of Disney Springs, the Town Center is supposedly the focal point of the entire complex. Here is a brief blurb providing some more info on the Town Center:

"The Town Center, which offers a sophisticated mix of shopping and dining along with a promenade where guests can relax, refresh and reconnect. Town Center will be built with a Spanish style architecture, drawing from a rich history of explorers that landed in Florida centuries ago."

So what are they building in that massive open space in front of Planet Hollywood?

Some of it will be the Town Center shops but most of it will be a new bus drop off area.

Great pictures! We will be traveling down there at the end of the month, but I am in need of an answer.

Does anyone know what the clearance height of the parking deck is? We are driving a large vehicle that needs a minimum clearance of 8'5". What are the parking options if the clearance is not tall enough?

Thanks in advance if you know the answer. I have tried various contact numbers and e-mails, but have yet to receive a reply from any of them.

I love that they are bringing a story to Disney Springs! I feel like Downtown Disney was always sort of lacking a story. I love the theme.

Great pictures, there sure is a lot of work going on around there. We had to park behind the Hess, didn't know the parking garage was open - will perhaps try and get in there if we go again.

Hey there Scrap4me - just a heads up, they do have parking right across the street from the complex. You could always park there instead if your worried about clearance issues.

How awful is the traffic around the garage? How hard is it to get in and out of the structure? I am (almost) tempted to check this out in a few months.

^ Traffic in the entire area is awful. If you're not there at or before opening, just stay away. It's a total mess.

When I was down there last August, traffic was HORRIBLE. If you are staying down there, utilize the WDW Buses!

pretty sure they would first connect the other two parks but good luck with ever having any monorail expansion.
