I'm 1 week back from our best stay to DLP yet. We've been twice previous, both times in December when our youngest son was very small and still in a pushchair.
This time we went for late September and the weather was fantastic, we were so lucky. As lovely as the Christmas theming is, the cold can be utterly depressing at times. And snow played havoc with our Eurostar journey home last time.
We were lucky enough to catch the very end of the 20th Anniversary celebrations, and also the Halloween decorations were popping up on a daily basis through our visit too. My eldest son (8) was tall enough to go on pretty much everything and our youngest (4) was just in awe of everything. His face when seeing the taking Buzz whilst in the queue for Buzz Lightyears Lazerblast will live with me forever. Ditto seeing Lightening McQueen in the stunt show. On this trip we got to see Captain Jack which was awesome, Owen (my 8 year old) kept saying for the whole time 'Mummy, I CANNOT BELIEVE I got to see Captain Jack'. This was also my BIL's first trip and he loved it too.
So since coming back I've had horrendous Disney blues and along with going back to work my husband has been away with work, so I've been solo parenting. Tonight, whilst making lunch boxes for school I stuck my Disney CD on and got me thinking about what's your ultimate favourite Disney song? One to bring a tear to your eye?
For me it's 'When You Wish Upon a Star' and 'Circle of Life'. Beautiful songs. Also any song from Beauty and the Beast is a hit with me, that's my most favourite film ever.
On this visit we came back into Fantasyland through the castle to hear the 'When You Wish Upon a Star' music playing and the fountains going in time with the music. I've never seen that before (and have since read they're new) but it was amazing to watch. After that song finished and the fountains were still going, I took my favourite photo of the entire holiday:
So share those Disney songs, make me more depressed
I've told H we absolutely HAVE to go back next year, no question. So he'd better start getting some overtime in
If anyone is interested, I can upload some photos to share tomorrow.
