Does anyone else have issues with this site? It is poorly laid out, takes forever for anything to load, and well just like all the other Disney sites I find they try to WOW people and it turns out to underwhelm then pisses me off so I just leave.

They got great prices on stuff but it seems to take forever to complete any shopping.....doesn't seem to be much of a rhyme or reason to the site. I have to add, we do have high speed Internet and I consider myself fairly technology savvy.........so it is not that I'm not "Internet savvy". I have this issue with multiple computers so it is not a set up issue on my side.

Grrrrrrrrr sorry but just frustrated as I have found items for the family as Christmas presents and I just give up, had enough of Disney sites.

So totally agree with you Culli. It took me over 2 hours a couple of weeks ago to order some shirts for Christmas presents. I also have DSL - it's not us or our computers. It's the Disney website. I ended up having to call customer service twice because they have -- since my order was placed ---backordered and cancelled several items.:headache: It's very, VERY frustrating! Customer service is even having trouble with the computer system!!!

I agree..i did read that they were upgrading the site and letting you add items to the cart directly from the shopping page instead of going to the view thing and then adding it which would streamline the mess.
It is poorly laid out..and does seem to take along time to find items you might be looking for.

Got an email with another 25% off today so went out found some nice stuff good price. It took forever so I said #$#@ it and just closed the browser. I just don't understand a company so big, global and I would assume the internet a very important tool for them....would have such a poor site? Not just the shoping but the whole disney.com site.

Not just the shoping but the whole disney.com site.

It's an "experience" doncha know? Someone went to town on that idea and decided the website should be done like TV... for a passive audience rather than the streamlined interactive internet one it serves.

I'm a web designer so I speak from that bias. All those flash animations and pop up windows make cool tricks but you run the risk of being so amazed with yourself you forget the purpose of your work. Amazon is really the only online store I think gets the right balance between wooing customers and giving them the info they want.

Didn't the store get sold to some other proprietor and then recently brought back in?

I agree, the website is horrible. Too many bells and whistles for the average user. I've tried the new site a few times over the pass few days, but find it hard to search and locate items. I've not made a purchase there in a long time. I also don't find the bargains and/or discounts as good as the former website.

It has been especially bad today because they are having a cyberMonday sale. For part of the day it kept saying the site was down for maintenance. Still extremely slow to load. :sad2:

As this is not a DVC specific topic, I'm moving it to the Community Board. :)

DisneyShopping.Com has always been owned by Disney corporate.
The Disney Store name was sold to Children's Place along with the retail leases and then the stores/leases were bought back by Disney corporate in a complicated deal.
The IT side of Disney was supposed to have been mainly farmed out to outside suppliers a while back - not sure what the status is now.

agnes!
PS - I hate the DisneyShopping.Com site too.
