Hello,
My daughter is going on a school trip to Japan next month. We found out Yesterday she had the option to go to Disney sea for half the day. My daughter is thrilled. I'm worried that with only half a day will she have a much fun? Looking at the Disney site or looks like you can pay a premium pass for special rides. Is this similar to genie plus? To me it looks like you have to pay for each ride. Any advice? Tia

Not familiar with TDS pass policies, but to your first question, yes it's worth it. A half day of fun is better than no fun day at all. Even if you just walk around the park you can have fun there.

TDS is AMAZING! It's the crown jewel of Dinsey parks. She should definitely go. With time being limited, I would prioritize doing Journey to the Center of the Earth and Sinbad's Storybook Voyage (great song!). There is also the new Fantasy Springs stuff which may be harder ot get to, though I hear it is all amazing.

Some easy skips, assuming she is familliar with the US parks, are Toy Story Mania - it is pretty much identical, Indiana Jones, which is very similar to the Disneyland version, and maybe Tower of Terror, though it does have an original story and a very cool pre-show, so maybe not. They also have a version of Sorain' but it is unique as well, so it might be worth it.

Your post has been moved to the board dedicated to planning for Toyko Disneyland as people here will better be able to answer your questions.

Sinbad is closed until September, attraction wise Journey and 20000 leagues under the sea are by far the most worth it since they are originals. Soarin' is decent but honestly not worth the 2+ hour wait, the queue is really only the part that changed. I'm not sure if she will be able to get into fantasy springs or not, but she might be lucky enough to get a pass later in the evening.

DisneySea is an absolutely stunning park, but wait times are quite long. The Premium Passes are like ILL passes in the US-the allow for a shorter wait. If her ticket is for the afternoon/evening, the premium passes will likely be sold out by then anyway.

FYI if she's going in the second part of the day-they shut down lines early, you can't just hop on line right before closing like we do in the US. If the park closes at 9, and the wait is 2 hours, they close the line off at 7pm.

Also the paid and free passes can be gone by afternoon. Morning is better for a partial day.
