I hope I can share this without rambling, so here goes:
This past weekend was a very special FW trip. My DD and I were joined by my beautiful girlfriend (sounds funny at my age), and her mother and her DD.
She and I have been friends for some time, and we both went through divorces this past year. We had made many WDW and FW trips before with our families.
Over the past few months our realtionship grew into something wonderful. Our DDs noticed it before we really admitted it to each other. It is so nice to fall in love with your best friend. I hesitated to talk to her about my feelings, because I didn't want to mess up our friendship, but she could see it in my eyes. She told me she noticed it one night when we were in line to ride BTMR. She has always loved to ride this during the fireworks because of the awesome view.
So I decided to propose to her there during the fireworks. We were standing in the area around the geyser(which wasn't on). The sky was so clear, the air just a little crisp. BTMR was to our left and Wishes fireworks started to filll the sky in front of us. I don't even remember what I said exactly, but as we stood there hugging I pulled out the box and opened it. It took her a minute to see it and for it to register, but she said YES!!!!! We held each other and watched the fireworks. Then we walked up to Liberty Square and had a Funnel Cake.
Our DD's were off with my future MIL (who is great btw) and were waiting for word on how the proposal went. So I sent them a pic message of our hands together with the ring on.
For those who asked about the ring, she didn't want a diamond. She wanted a pearl. The bands are white gold.
So that is my attempt at a Reader's Digest version of the event.
Now maybe some of ya'll can share some romantic Disney memories, or more stories about your proposals.
