We are in the planning stages of going to the World with a party of 10-12 people and would like to have at least 2 to 3 table service meals together as a group. Also, we would like to do a character meal together. What restaurants can accommodate large parties?

We have done parties of 11 and 17 on various trips to WDW. We have all been seated together at the following:

Cape May (character breakfast)
Tusker House (character breakfast)
Whispering Canyon Cafe
Jiko
Boma
Tutto Italia

At Coral Reef, Sci Fi and Crystal Palace, we were seated at side by side tables.

We had a party of 10 at Le Cellier and a party of 12 at the Grand Floridian Cafe and we were seated together. At Chef Mickey's we had a party of 14 and we were seated at two round tables next to each other.

I would imagine that just about every TS restaurant in any park or resort is capable of accomodating a party of 10 - 12.

1) Yes - Push Tables Together
. . . Chefs de France
. . . Restaurant Marrakesh
. . . Tutto Italia

2) Yes - Single Table:
. . . Biergarten

3) Probably Not (but, maybe with some sweet-talkin')
. . . Le Cellier
. . . Teppan Edo (sometimes can squeeze nine)
. . . Lotus Blossom
. . . Rose & Crown
. . . San Angel Inn

A number of years ago Narcoossee's accommodated my family of 20 for dinner!!!
It was great!!!!!!

. . . Le Cellier

We got 11 together at Le Cellier. It was three separate tables next to each other with a banquette (long bench) on one side and six chairs on the other. They did the same thing at Mama Melrose.

We also were successful at:

Chef Mickey's (we pushed tables together)

At the following restaurants, the staff had pushed tables together before we arrived:
Garden Grill
'Ohana
Akershus Royal Banquet Hall

Crystal Palace they could not sit us together. We were at two separate round tables. But I think there was at least one other large group there at the same time and they WERE seated together.

Just bumping this up to see if anyone else can share their experience with a party of 10? Thanks!

When are you planning on going?! We leave in a week (10/1-10/10) we have a group of 14. We have reservations at:

Ohana' (breakfast)
Crystal Palace (breakfast)
Sci-Fi (lunch)
Tusker House (breakfast)
BOMA (dinner)
Teppan Edo (lunch)
CRT (dinner)
T-Rex (lunch)

We are also going to have dinner at a Downtown Disney restaurant, we just haven't decided where yet.

I could take pictures and/or let you know when I get back if you would like!! :thumbsup2

That would be great, thanks Melissa! We're going May 6th-May 12th of 2011.....off property. I have a couple of months before my 180 days to book reservations, so I want to get all the info now. :)

We did 50's Prime Time and we were seated together at 3 tables. There was a break between two of the tables, but that is so people could get back to the long booth seat. It worked out GREAT!

We also had reservations at the San Angel and we were not together. That was a little annoying, but since my table got food first I was ok with it. :)

EDIT: 11 people.

No problem! I'll be back in town on Oct. 12th... so I'll try uploading the info then!! :thumbsup2

I would imagine that just about every TS restaurant in any park or resort is capable of accomodating a party of 10 - 12.

On the other hand, I don't think any Disney restaurant will ever guarantee that a group of 10 will all be seated at the same table.

We traveled this past august with 10... We ate at le cellier, tusker house, brown derby, CG, CRT, plaza, ohana, coral reef, captains grille, WCC. We sat together at all but coral reef(next to each other), CRT( next to each other) and the plaza( across from each other)

Thanks for bringing this back up!:thumbsup2

We have our rooms booked for July 2011, so January I will be a busy making reservations. We've eaten at Whispering Canyon several times, so that will probably be one stop. Chef Mickey's and Ohana would probably be fun, and worth looking at. Keep the ideas coming!:woohoo:

Melissa<3Disney pictures would be great, thanks!:cool2:

Hi we are back!! I got pics of all our table set ups at the restaurants we ate at!! I have to go work.. but I will upload them either tonight or tomorrow!! :goodvibes:thumbsup2

we just came back last month and we had a group of 22 people at Ohana and it was no problem! we also had large groups for meals at Coral Reef, and the Luau!

Our family has dined at many restaurants and we've been accommodated pretty well. The only thing that confused me is last trip we did not get seated next to each a couple of times (LeCellier, Cali Grill) and at Nine Dragons we walked in to a practically empty restaurant for our ADR and they didn't even push tables together for us; we were seated at four different tables, one wasn't even near the rest of the group.:confused3
Raglan Road was great for large group; they have a little alcove that worked out nice (only can't see anything going on in main dining room).
We have also dined at:
'Ohana
Biergarten
Chef Mickey
Prime Time Cafe
Boma
Crystal Palace
Princess Bfast at Castle

Just a heads up; if you plan to dine at WCC with a group over 10 they (the restaurant) require that you only order the skillet entree from their menu; you cannot order other entrees. Since we really wanted to try WCC; I ended up making two separate ADRs for our upcoming trip (my name, and SIL name). Not all the CMs in group dining know about this requirement; but when you call WCC directly, they will tell you this is the case.

Here are the pics I promised...

Ohana Breakfast- Best breakfast we had, by far, it was the most fun and laid back of the breakfasts and the characters were really interactive here. The one full table was nice too!

Crystal Palace Breakfast- They split us up into two round tables in the corner. I like the area though, because we were sort of set off into the back so the kids could get up and get to the characters easily or go between the two tables to visit without disturbing anyone else.

Sci-Fi lunch- We were seated in three seperate cars here, two next to each other and one kind of far away. This one was the hardest to communicate with one another. It was a cool experience, but we probably won't do this one with a big group again.

Tusker House Breakfast-We ended up only having 9 for this one. My sister and her family decided to sleep in on this day. Once again we got to sit together which was nice.

BOMA dinner- This was my fiancee's favorite by far! The food selection is great, although the buffet can get a little crowded at times, the resort is beautiful we spent at least two hours after dinner just walking around.

Teppan Edo lunch- This one disappointed me the most in terms of seating. We got there around 5 minutes after our scheduled ADR and had to wait 30 minutes to be seated. And when we were seated we were seated diagonally from each other making it very hard to communicate between tables. Once again pretty neat experience for those who haven't done it, but probably won't do it again.

CRT dinner- Now this experience was by far the neatest!! Eating in the castle!! Need I say more. Just give yourself lots of time for this meal with a big party. With our party group we were allowed four picture packages, so checking in, meeting Cinderella, and taking the pics took about 20 minutes. Then we waited another 20-25 minutes for them to set up a table for our large party. There was also another large family who checked in 5 minutes after us and were seated a few minutes after we were.

We were seated at three different tables, which we were kind of bummed about since there was a large connecting table right next to us that could have accommodated our party a little better. But that's okay still fun anyways! :goodvibes

I hope this helps!! Have a magical trip!:thumbsup2

We just returned and there were 10 of us. I made ADR 6 months out. There were no problems seating 10. A few restaurants we made double ADR, 5 + 5, when we checked in they always sat us together.

Crystal Palace
T-Rex
Sci-Fi
Rainforest Cafe
Chef Mickey. Places that sat us together even though we had 2 separate ADR but at the same time.
