Disney resorts sold out last week of March?

We were considering planning a last minute spring break trip--I was surprised to see that we can not get a room at all on Disney property for that week. I noticed the hours of the theme parks are not increased (MK open until 10pm most nights), and there are still many dining reservations....just curious if this happens a lot? I know its spring break, but we've even been able to get some kind of resort availability at busy times on short notice. Is it truly that packed (all rooms at full capacity) or do they only sell a certain portion?

Resort occupancy has very little affect on park attendance.

For Spring Break, yes.

WDW tries to sell just about every room they have every day. I say just about because they need a couple empty in case of issues that make a sold room uninhabitable.

This is fascinating to me, as I thought more people staying would mean more people in the parks...

The last week of March is spring break for a lot of schools, including ours. :)
For sure, I knew it would be busy...but figured park hours would be until midnight or later at MK if the hotels were totally sold out. We even had a travel agent look for us, looked at split stays, etc. Crazy!

They often increase park hours at the last minute. I have been in the Magic Kingdom when they announced that the park was going to be open until 11pm instead of the posted 10pm.

Well I guess it will be an interesting week. I thought it would be crazy, and you are confirming it. I’m super excited!!!

I was looking for a client for 22-29 and was able to get a split stay but the night of the 27th was the hardest. I did release a room at CBR for those dates but that was on Wednesday.
