We will be in Disney in February for an event at the Wide World of Sports. Normally we go to Disney every 3 years or so and stay at the Polynesian or another Magic Kingdom area resort. I know nothing about the resorts near there though. We will be flying so will have to rely on transportation, which besides transportation to the wwos complex, I’m familiar with. From what I have gathered the resorts near the complex have transportation there so we definitely want to stay at one of those. We are planning on making a long weekend out of the trip while not spending a fortune because we are planning on going next summer for our big summer vacation. This trip won’t be our whole family as our other kids have sports that will be going on at home so I know that will help with costs. We do plan on doing the parks the 3 days (possibly 4) we are there.

I guess all of that is just a bunch of rambling but I’m looking for advice on best resort to stay at that has transportation to the complex. Also, any other advice that could help in the planning process for this shortened trip. Thanks!!

Pop Century is super close to Wide World of Sports complex. You might want to call hotel to confirm if there Disney transportation. It’s would be a pretty short Uber/Lyft drive.

Pop would also give you Skyliner access to Hollywood Studios and Epcot

Historically,Pre-Covid,the Cheerleading/Dance/Twirl etc. Events had 2 Bus Routes for Guests from WDW Resorts:

All-Star Sports----All-Star Music----All-Star Movies----ESPN Wide World of Sports

Pop Century----Caribbean Beach----ESPN Wide World Of Sports

The participants have their own bus service.

HOWEVER when we were at WDW in January,Disney was not providing those routes for Guests who were going to the College Cheerleading and Dance Championships,so only time will tell if they ever bring that service for Guests back.

Thanks, that some good information. I don’t know why taking an Uber there never crossed my mind, that sounds so much easier than dealing with a bus(if they even are running them now).

Pop sounds like a good idea since they have the skyliner. I guess if we take an Uber to the complex we could stay anywhere on property but I do want to keep costs down so Pop sounds like a good plan. Thanks for the advice!

POP, AoA and CBR are all right there. Practically walkable but you are not allowed to walk.

Unless you are part of the team, I wouldn't rely on WDW transportation. It can be hit or miss -- or at least not as regular schedule like you are used to for the parks -- and you could miss the event you want to see. POP, AoA and CBR are closest.

And if you want a Deluxe, Riviera is just a little bit north of CBR, and also on the Skyliner.

So - close to WWoS:
Value = Pop or AoA
Moderate = CBR
Deluxe = Riviera

Any of the values or the Boardwalk area resorts are close. Riviera and Old Key West are also easy drives there.
