We just got back 5 weeks ago from WDW, and I wanted to share a tip with all of you.

Keep your resort key card in a safe place while exploring the parks. During our trip, my husband found someone's Disney Resort key card lying on the ground, I think in Epcot. Then 8 days later, I was using the Fast Pass machine near the Haunted Mansion in Magic Kingdom, and I saw someone's resort key card sitting on the FP machine I was using. Both instances we gave the resort key cards to a cast member.

So I guess there are actually two tips:

1. Keep track of your resort key cards while exploring the parks, Downtown Disney, etc.

2. If you find a Disney Resort Key card, please give it to a cast member. If someone comes to you and says, "That's my card", make sure you ask for ID so your not giving it to the wrong person.

This is specially important as some people use their resort key cards for charging privilages, and/or park passes.

Good tip. That's one of the reasons we don't give our DD's charging priveleges. I find their room keys EVERYWHERE but on their person!!!

I've found both resort keys and park tickets laying on the ground in different parks. Definately keep them in safe places! Thanks for the tip. :)

I found a KTTW "adult" card lying on a lounge chair at the ASMo Duck Pond Pool. No towel or shoes were nearby so just before we left the pool I handed it to the lifeguard.

I was always conscious of where my card and DD's card were at all times. The only time I felt weird was when we went to the pool. We did take DD's since she didn't have charging on hers. But I still kind of hid it in a bag under my towel at the pool. I obviously couldn't take it in the pool! How do you guys keep the card safe in that instance?

I have one of those watertight pouches that hang around your neck and put room key/charge card in it when in the pool etc. It tucks down the front of my bikini and looks a little odd but at least it's safe.

I tuck it into my suit at the hip. When I give it to the pool bartender, he doesn't look surprised and says thats where a lot of them get stashed.

Last trip my husband forgot one in a FastPass machine. It had charging privledges on it and it hadn't been signed (it was my mother in laws, and I don't think she understood she could charge on it). We cancelled it as soon as we realized it was lost (they can do this from any store - we did it from Guest Services and they issued a temporary day pass), they issued a new card back at the hotel, and no charges showed up - but it was a hassle that no one needs to go through.

I don't know if they still do this but it's worth putting other there. When I was down in '97 we asked the cast member at the front desk if she could punch a hole in my little brother's card so that he could put it on a lanyard or something. She did and it was with a mickey head hole punch. I guess my parents must have taken it off the thing to get into the park and then put it back on or something. I don't really remember. I just remember the hole punch.
