i just like to share how far disney will go to make something right even though disney had nothing to do with the theft. but i am sure they could sit their and not help when they took it from a 4 year old. what makes it even more special is they found the origanil mold and making them a new one since they didn't make the hippo any more. way to go disney for stepping in when they didn't have to help this family with something they had to make not just send an already made product.

sorry to harp on this but disney could of just said sorry it happen but we don't make that hippo any more but they went a found the mold for it and are going to make a new one not sure many company's would do that hopefully this will make it on as one of john news stories.

It makes me sick to think that someone would steal something from a 4 year old's grave site. What is wrong with people?? Hats off to Disney for going above and beyond to replace it.

Bravo to Disney for going the extra mile in understanding their place in the hearts of this family, and the palliative nature that their brand represents to some in their time of loss.

There are no words that would completely encompass the revulsion I feel about the desecration of a child's grave site. I shudder to ponder what acts of selfish depravity are even considered in the minds of people today.

My thoughts exactly!

i never understand why people mess with graves and i will never understand why someone would want to steal from a 4 year olds grave. i am sure it some kinda of stupid who thinks the kid won't know but their love ones will it meant something to the 4 year old and know it been stolen thankfully Disney has stepped in to help. their some places that need to be off limits and grave sites should be one of them. well they're no place that acceptable to steal from but one place that should never even be on anyones mind to do it is a grave site.

I had started a thread before they had found the hippo and when they found that Disney was going to make a special one for Erin's family. I'm so glad that Disney made such a special effort for this family. When Michelle, Erin's mommy first announced that Disney had called and was going to replace the statue I was in tear. Happy tears. I mentioned to Michelle that when Erin was dying Walt Disney World became their happy time because of her wish trip. I thought Disney has come to the rescue again. Couldn't help but think Erin had something to do with everything. The family never did find the first one but what Disney did for her family showed that there are good people in the world.

Was it made out of copper? If so, then they stole it to melt and sell the copper. If it was plain paper, then they did it to be mean or it blew off or someone put it on someone's else grave or relative, or someone didn't like it because it was old or a child came along and took it.
