Though this was organized via social media by fans John Panda, Corinne Andersson, Serena Skretvedt, and Lindsey Freehill, Walt Disney World showed nothing but love and support by changing the color scheme of Cinderella's Castle and the surrounding Hub area to rainbow colors, as well as handing out free rainbow and heart pins to those at the event.

Also the music stopped for a moment of silence lasting 49 seconds.

What a nice memorial. Thank you for sharing the video for those of us who could not be there in person.

They also allowed many CMs to leave their area and come to the hub in costume and instead of pushing people out after the kiss they let them linger as long as needed. I heard the last guest left around 1 am.

Very nice gesture. My heart was torn to shreds seeing the I'm Celebrating buttons with all the different names on it and the multiples of the individual who worked at the Emporium.

DH and I were there. It was an incredible experience.
I've never seen a crowd like that for a Kiss Goodnight.
They did 2, that we stayed for. It was my understanding that a 3rd was planned in 30 more min.
They did one at 45 min after and then another 30 min after that.
The one in the video is the first one. A few left following it but not many at all.
There were thousands of CM there. Probably as many CM as guests. It was very rainy that evening and the park had really cleared out of guests. It had stopped by the last hour but too late for most to return.
We'd eaten at BOG earlier that night and the CM serving us told us they'd been told they were welcome to go if they had no tables left when it began. And they'd told all CM at other parks they were welcome to cover over. It was moved from 30 min after close to 45 min after close to give the other park's CM time to arrive.
The music was turned down for a brief time but the crowd remained totally silent for well longer than that. I've never heard such quiet at Disney.

We even got to meet the lady that was behind it all. DH and I started our morning at the Early Magic event. On our way to ride 7 Dwarfs we met a supervisor who was out to make sure everyone know what rides were open, how breakfast worked, etc. We spoke to him for a bit. He was the manger of New Fantasy Land. Well, as we were walking out following the Kiss Goodnight we saw him again. He recognized us and said "you been here the entire time!" and we said no, we took a break for a nap since we knew we were doing the Kiss Goodnight. Well, he took us over and introduced us to a CM named Anne, also a manager of some sort, and he said it was her brain child.

On the way through the tunnels they were giving out 2 pins. We each got both pins. I wore both of mine the next day and all the CM we saw at Epcot and HS knew exactly where we'd gotten them.

What a wonderful gesture. How moving and touching. I wish Disney would sell these pins with proceeds going toward a fund for victims and families. I'm not discounting the gesture of them being given to those who attended the event, just would like to be able to keep it going.

The pins I believe are open edition pins that were actually on sale before. They can still be purchased. I think instead of having something in the park that is branded as helping the vicitims and thus being a reminder they have decided to match all donations by CMs and donated 1 million to the OrlandoOne fund out right. I think it is a balance of keeping the magic as well as helping.

Yes, both pins are for sale. I have seen them before and these even had the price, or rather the color code, sticker on the back

OOO, I better go buy a set before they're all gone. Too bad my purchase won't be toward a benefit other than knowing I stand united with my second hometown.

Kudos, Disney, kudos.

What a breathtaking and heartfelt tribute to all those that lost their lives on that tragic day. I was in Los Angeles at the time and didn't know anything about it until I walked through my hotel lobby and see it on CNN. My heart sunk and although Im from the UK, Orlando is like my 2nd home as I practically lived there when I was a kid. Im planning on doing something sponsored soon to raise money for those poor souls out in Orlando as I feel its only right to help a city in need after such a tragic loss of life from an absolute cretin of a human being.

That tribute at the MK was absolutely incredible. Sending huge love to Orlando from the UK.
