Has anyone ever done Disney Quest without children? I'm deciding whether or not to spend time here. My boyfriend might enjoy it. I could take it or leave it. We are in our early 30's.:D

Last year we took our childless friends 40/50 yr.

They had a blast and we all laughed for hours.

First time we went I figured we'd stay 3-4 hrs and ended up in there 8 hours.

My husband and I go in Disney Quest sometimes when we visit. I'm mid 20's, he's early 30's. There are some vintage video games that are fun, although that may depend on if you played them when they weren't vintage? lol.
This area tends to be 'clogged' with kids, though, especially when it's raining. If that's the case, we usually spend time (and money) in the play-for-tickets area. That's also pretty fun, if you're into that kind of thing and don't mind spending the money. I believe it was $20 for 200 'points' on your card, and most games are 3 to 5 points per play. Last time we got enough tickets to get a Beeker and a Bunsen Honeydew plush.
There are also interactive games, like virtual Aladdin, a Pirates game, and so on. We've tried most of these once and never bothered to do them again.
It's a fun way to spend an afternoon, but we can usually take or leave it, especially if we're pressed for time. If you go in the off season when it's less busy, I think you could easily spend a day there, especially your first time. :)

We enjoyed it when we first went there, now that we are early 40's (going on early 20's) we can take it or leave it. Our kids still love it and want to spend most evenings there, so we'll leave them and wander off around the rest of DTD.

Thanks for the info everyone. I wasn't aware of the vintage games being there. We definitely played them before they were vintage.:D Might be worth a couple of hours to check them out.

I LOVE this place!!!! I bought my tickets months ago and can't wait to go! We will make sure to go on a beautiful day, when most other people will be in the parks!

I'm 50 something :D and my sister is almost 50. We're going in June with my 17 year old son and his friend. We plan to spend our day off at DQ. We love it. We like the old video games, the virtual reality games, the animation classes, the food, everything. We always plan a Buzz bumper car duel - teens against the "pros"!

When we were making 2 or 3 trips to WDW every year we purchased the DQ annual pass. Now that my son is older we don't do WDW as often so we opt for the one day visit during our week stay.

We usually get there when it opens, have lunch there, and then my sister & I will probably leave to do some shopping. We take a break (sometimes my son & his friend break also) then we go back in the evening. Great fun!

Although it's technically not without children, we separate from the teens most of the time. We'd do DQ if making a trip alone. I can't quite get my hands around a WDW trip without DQ!

My husband who is now 33 years old LOVES Disney Quest. It's not a trip to Disney for him without going here. I can completely take or leave the place.
This trip around I think he will be playing Frogger and QBert all by himself!
If your boyfriend is a vintage videogame freak, he will not want to miss this place.

It's an OK place. If admission is already on your ticket (UPH), then by all means go in and check it out. However, if you have to pay separate admission, think it over. We've never stayed in there more than a couple of hours, which certainly wouldn't be worth the $$$ if I had to pay for a separate admission.

Hubby and I (28 & 31) are video game junkies...and we'll be going to DQ for the first time in two weeks. Can't wait!

We are 40something and we love Disneyquest. I have so much fun here. I prefer to go for about 3 hours at a time and last trip we went three times. My favorite was the build my own roller coaster and ride it.

We love it too! I'm 29 and DH is 35 and we have no kids. I think there is as much stuff to do for adults as kids. I also loved building and riding my own coaster (although DH sat that one out). Its also a lot of fun to play those vintage games! I played Galaga forever one evening - reminded me of when I was a kid playing it at a hotel in Florida. And I could play skeeball all day long.

The virtual rides are just too cool! Definitely play Pirates of the Caribbean...and don't miss out on learning how to draw Disney characters that they do every hour. We drew Pluto and it was so much fun! Don't miss out on going to DQ. We skipped it the first two years and then when we went the third year with other family members who talked us into going, we couldn't believe what we had been missing.

Hi, all,

I'm not clear on what exactly this place is - is it just video games? And what do you get for the admission price - are all the games included?

Any info would be great!

There are video games but its far from that. Everything is included and you play the games. Many of the games you are imersed into the game. Take the Jungle Cruise one. Up to 4 can play and you get on a rubber raft. a real one thats inflated. Then you have these paddles that you paddle with. When you paddle it registers into the computer and you move foward or if only one person paddles you go in circles. The screen in front of you shows you the water and what you pass by. We ran into some rapids and some mist came on us too.

The Ranger spin one you have a driver and a shooter. You are in a little car. The driver drives over top of balls the size of basket balls then the shooter puts them in the shooter and then the driver aims and the shooter fires. If you hit the marked spot on the car they spin out of control I have to say its a blast gettnig hit too.

The priates of the Carrabean you have a person driving the boat (I know wrong lingo fro boat stearing) anyway they drive past other ships on the video screen and then the others are running around shooting and stealing the gold. Sometimes you have ships on both sides to shoot at.

There are many more games like this. My all time favorite is you get into a kiosk and build a roller coaster then you ride the one you built. Up to two can ride this one at a time. I built a level 5 adn it had so much spinning. You can be more tame and build a level one. The screen shows you the track as you ride it. A virtual roller coaster.

So is your admission ticket all inclusive or do you pay for some of the activities in Disney Quest?

The only thing I remember charging extra money was the games near the food places. They were the kind you stick a quarter in and win a prize. All the arcade and the ones you be a part of are included in the price.

All of the games/rides/virtual reality are free w/admission EXCEPT any game that you can win prizes for and those they charge for by buying cards that are kinda like prepaid phone cards. You put them in the slot and it deducts so many credits depending on the game. A credit was roughly 25 cents the last time I was there in August 2003.

I was kinda disappointed that they started charging for the crane machines. They were my favorite game, but I guess they were going broke by people who were really good at them like I was so I understand it.

DQ also has one of the best food places in DTD, IMO. The Cheesecake Factory Express is the best and has awesome chicken salad sandwiches. Get there early though because they close before DQ does, usually around 7-9pm.

DQ is definitely a fun place and worth checking out. The inside is wonderfully creative and shows what Imagineering used to be able to do when they had money. The vintage games are fun, and the virtual reality is very cool (especially Pirates).

The ticket is good for all day, so you can head on out, go see a movie, walk the sidewalk at DTD or whatever and come back into it later if you want.

My dh and i did DQ last year and loved it. I was pregnant so couldnt do the virtual reality but i loved the vintage games. I got very giddy when i saw burger time and centipede lol. I am in my mid twenties and DH is thirty. We cant wait to do it again this time around.

DH and I have been twice. Once when we were mid-30's and once late-30's. We went with our boys, but we would have gone anyway. I was really bummed last time when we had to go because it was time to get the boys to sleep! lol We both enjoy it.

I am a rollercoaster chicken. However, I LOVED the build your own rollercoaster simulator. All the excitement without the heights!

I really enjoy getting to play my favorite games from yesteryear. I loved Centipede! I'm so bad at it now! lol Anyway, they have a lot of the old games (Centipede, Millipede, Qbert, Pacman, Astroids, King's Lair, etc...) The only complaint I have is that some of them don't work very well. Given that they are 30 years old, I guess it is probably hard to keep them up.

I can't even begin to talk about all the other games and simulators. It is amazing. That being said, if you don't like video games, there is no reason to go.

Enjoy!
