So begins my long recount of my trip in November 2005. Months of preparation and hard work slaving over a computer grasping every bit of Disney knowledge and information that I can. There is so much, how can I retrieve it all or live up to the title of Disney Queen bestowed upon me by my very dear friend Joan after winning a Disney cruise off the radio? I’m panicking, my heart is racing (literally as you will read later), can I make this the best Disney vacation ever in my history?

Antichrist:
• an enemy of Christ believed by the early Church to appear before the end of the world

My DH, forever known as the AntiMickey (see definition above, but insert enemy of Mickey) bestowed upon him after a previous Disney vacation by dear friends, says that I have “accumulated a vast knowledge of useless Disney information”. HA!! is all I have to say to the AntiMickey! My useless knowledge would come in VERY handy as I will tell you later. My knowledge would lead me to develop the Big Blue Binder which contained all my months of hard work and was forklifted from home to my beautiful resort. I was sure the BBB would take me over the allowable weight limit of bags with the airline. But alas! It actually made it as a carry-on, for I would not let the thing out of my site. It was forklifted to the overhead storage compartment on our flight and that was the most distance put between me and the coveted BBB until we reached our condo. I kept a sharp eye out for invaders on the flight who might want to capture it and put it up for ransom (or sell it on Ebay). The Disney Queen was very proud of her creation.

In March we headed down to North Carolina to visit with the other couple going with us on our Disney trip. They didn’t know it, but I wanted to make this our Disney pre-planning trip. I took videos down that I had taped off of the Travel Channel of every Disney show they had on. I coerced them all to watch so they could get a feel for what they had to look forward to. The AntiMickey proclaimed ”Do we have to?” I proclaimed “drink a Tom Collins and you’ll be fine”. Tom Collins were then distributed all around and everyone had a good time. This was my first discovery that Disney is tolerable for them if they all have liquid refreshment.

Fast forward to October. I received my Mousesavers newsletter stating that there were discounts to be had during the time when we were going. Could this be true? I anxiously clicked on the link and read and reread then did that a couple more times before I believed that I could save about $455 dollars on our reservation. I dialed Disney with my shaky finger, uh, well, I have to admit here that Disney is actually programmed into my cell phone! True Disney freak! Got a very nice lady on the phone and told her I would like to apply a discount code to my existing reservation. She couldn’t find the code at first, put me on hold for about 10 minutes, came back and said “I found it and your discount will be $912”! I tried not to sound absolutely shocked. The discount was for $65/night and this lady more than doubled our discount! I was shaking again with pure excitement. Told her many thanks, called the AntiMickey who proclaimed ”Get Out!!”. I proclaimed “Far Out!!” The Disney Queen and her subject were very happy that day.

We started packing for our trip the Sunday before our following Saturday departure. We were going to have a crazy week and wanted to get as much done as possible. We didn’t need to wear our shorts here in Pittsburgh anymore, so packing early wasn’t a problem. Even though I did this, I still forgot a few things which I discovered later. By Friday I was done with packing about 7pm and the AntiMicky procrastinated all week so he didn’t finish up until about 9pm. I had a plan in mind the prior week, to have all of my packing done and take a little blue pill to help me sleep the night before our flight. I have had an ongoing sleeping problem for years and finally asked the doctor to give me something to help me when I have gone past the sleep deprivation zone. I only take it when I absolutely have to, and this was one of those have to situations. If I don’t sleep, I tend to get heart palpitations, which are a pain in the butt. This would not be good when we are traveling. I can just see the pilot announcing to a plane filled with kids that we can’t go straight to Disney “cause we have to make a pit-stop to drop the Disney Queen off at a hospital”. There would be a revolt amongst the subjects. So in goes the blue pill and down goes my head in about 20 minutes. Oh it is soooo good to sleep every now and then!

DISCLAIMER: This is my first trip report. I may be long winded at times. Please be kind.
