Very disappointed to hear about Disney Infinity.
Wonder if it would be Star Wars?Iger says Disney is looking to expand in Tokyo and Hong Kong (rumored second gate).
I am a bit surprised too - though my guess is they can't justify keeping the entire video game business segment for one game - and one whose shelf life is perhaps running out.

I would assume that but I'm not positive. I don't know how they work in numbers for places like Tokyo and Hong Kong which they don't own majority.
Yes it was talked about after the year end earnings report that occupancy was quite high and at the point expansion would be looked at.Just curious as I recall them mentioning the high occupancy on the Orlando Podcast and how when that happens they usually start planning new resorts and connected that with the land variance they got on that land inbetween Yacht club and EPCOT
I wouldn't say it's shelf life is running out - as long as there are Disney movies, they could have theoretically continued producing content. But I imagine the gaming division was just too far under to justify trying keeping it afloat.
Please stay on budget, please stay on budget...
Iger says analysts shouldn't look at Disney as a quarter to quarter company, they don't operate that way.
Yeah we got Disney infinity when it first came out and got about 12 or so character eventually. But then you have to add in power discs and all of this other stuff it's quite an expensive model and I can see why it wore off.The problem with Infinity was that people saw the figure as too expensive and a money grab.
We always looked at it as a deal - I get video game content and an action figure. I looked at how many Star Wars and GI Joe figures I had growing up... My sons Disney Infinity figures (and Amiibo and Skylanders) spent as much time playing outside the game as they did inside the game. There were many times I came home to a massive "battle" going on in the family room with dozens of figures grouped and teamed up. When we approached it that way, the figures were not at all expensive and the fact they served double duty was good.
The important thing is they keep the Toy Box servers running and that community active. There are several dozen figures with unique moves to keep the game and content alive for years if the Toy Box stays up.
Probably just a gaming center or will be changed altogether.I'm curious about what will happen to the Disney infinity space in the kids club on the Disney Dream ship. My kids were wanting to go try that out.
I assume that is global hotel occupancy, correct? I feel like I've heard recently the Florida hotels were running at rather high occupancies in general
That's what I read too. Plus I heard that there is more availabity for WDW resorts lately but that might not reflect on this report.I thought I read earlier attendance was up at DLR, however WDW had a "modest" decline.
Most things I saw say attendance was just flat so really no increase or decrease. This is interesting though. Are we hitting a price plateau? I think a lot has to do with DHS, attendance has to be down there. I've also heard attendance at Epcot has been flat or down without Soarin.I thought I read earlier attendance was up at DLR, however WDW had a "modest" decline.
